I was just at Canadian Tire and passed by the tool section to discover that they now carry Wera and Knipex.

I saw a full set of Wera joker wrenches, screwdriver sets, a few ratchets including their hammer ratchet, a few different sets of metric sockets, and the toolcheck sets.

The Knipex section had most of the common pliers you'd want including the ever popular cobras.

The prices seemed quite reasonable but the real question is... When is the 70% off with 20x the points sale coming?! :D

I noticed that too - but online only. I've yet to spot any Wera at a store in person and only very limited Knipex. I hope they do bring it in though!

Just FYI, you can get a much more comprehensive selection of both brands from KMS tools.

IHL, Atlas, BC Fasteners & JC Cayer are good places to check too.

I find BC Fastners has the best in store selection of Knipex tools. Good to see CT starting to sell better quality tools not made in China.

Went through this about 7yrs ago, in the midwest, Regional farm store Co did the same thing, I think it lasted it 2yrs. Not sure if sales did not support the product, or if shrinkage of the quality tools was a problem, but its all gone, and we are back to Chyna and Taiwan.

Hopefully yours lasts longer !

I really hope so. It's definitely tough for a higher end brand with little to no recognition here to try and sell a rail of 10 sockets for $100 when next to them there is the mastercraft 200 piece socket and ratchet set for the same price.

Never buy anything at CT until its 70% off. I cant believe their full retail price on the often marked down items.

That's true for their house-brands. I highly doubt you're going to get a 70% off Knipex and Wera sale though. :p

Occasionally (like two or three times a year) Canadian Tire does a 25% off Channellock sale - that's pretty good. Their prices are typically a couple bucks higher than Home Depot, but the sale gets them lower.

Fingers crossed we get a Knipex/Wera sale of some type. Maybe just a 20X Canadian Tire bucks?

For me, Canadian Tire is pretty much the only store asides from grocery stores in town. That means I accumulate a lot of Canadian tire money. Which means I'm going to be getting some nice tools for free.
