I have been going back and forth on what screwdrivers to replace my Craftsman that are wearing out. I know they will replace them, but I haven't been too happy with the newer ones. They no longer make the industrial black and orange ones and the new Professional line seems poorly made. My first choice was Klein since we use them at work, but again their quality seems to be declining.

I narrowed it down to Wiha, Wera, Hazet, and Felo. The Hazets are very nice, but hard to get in the US. Wera's are no longer made in Germany. That got it to Wiha and Felo. I just liked the looks of the Felo's better, no particular reason.

I ordered the 6-piece set Sunday from Amazon and got them today. The handles are very comfortable and the tips are definitely a precision fit. I plan on ordering the larger and smaller sizes from Chad's Toolbox to fill in the rest of the set.

Note that these are not magnetic! The fit is that good on a #2!

Those look nice! The Felo is name is very familar to me for some reason.

These remind me of the Witte MAXXPRO screwdrivers. I just picked up the newer Matco Top Torque II (Witte Maxxpro) to replace my old Matco Witte screwdrivers.

I like the looks of the ergonomics of these a lot. Are they hard handles or do they have a cushioned or rubberized grip?

What's the hole in the handle for? :headscrat

For apply more torque or even for hanging.

I have a set with the wood handle that I keep for use around the house. Great set of drivers.

Here is my growing Felo collection. The 1/4 driver is both shots, I took the first picture to post in German hand tools thread. I just got everything in the first picture today. The pliers and 1/4 square drive are for the garage.

How are the Felo Ergonic grips when used with dirt, oil and grease? Does the grip clean-up well? Do the screwdrivers slip in your hand? I'm up for a new set of screwdrivers, too, and these Felos have made the short list.

They cleanup well. But if you are expecting auto get them oily and grimy a lot. I would look at the 500 with the hard plastic handles instead. They have a set with the turn hole as well.

I would ask ash on the German hand tool thread. I do not get my ergo oily to often, so clean up is not bad.

my hands don't get too greasy because I wipe them off or pull off my latex gloves but they grip as well with grease as well as any other screwdrivers I have used.

I slightly prefer Wera over Felo, but both are better than anything I had used previously.

The 500 "Frico" series are not necessarily "soft" like the Ergonics, but they have a tactile rubber finish that is the same as the Ergonics. If you are looking for a simple, hard-handled plastic driver that is super easy to clean, you will have to look to the red 200-series Felos.

I love the 500s, though, and while I am not submerging them in grease all the time, they clean up fairly easily.

The rubber finish of the 500 is actually like the color rubber bands of the wera. They give grip and stay firm. The softer ergonics if getting it oil and grease allot, I could see them needing a bit more clean up.

And yeah I agree if you are going to have them in a ton of grease and oil go with hard plastic like the 200 series.

With oiled hands the easily washable handles, slip as easily as they cleaned.
The better the grip with dirty hands the harder the cleaning. (I hope to wrote it correctly :D)

It's a loop. :)

Those Felo Frico's look just like the (made in Germany) Xcelite XPE series handles. Outsourcing to Felo?

Hey Lok: many thanks for the pics! Love the post you linked to.

I ordered a set of Hazet screw and torx drivers recently and really like the feel of them. By your pic, I think the Felo looks awfully tempting.

Damn. I own Williams, SK, Hazet, Snap-on, Wiha, Gray, Wera, Fuller Pro, Picquic. Toptul, vintage Craftsman, and few vintage odds & ends from my Dad. I thought I was done buying screwdrivers. :lol_hitti

Just to annoy everyone who's NOT in Europe: http://www.felo.de/en/contacts/ (top right 'Free sample').

Got mine with the catalogue and a very nice 'Thank you'-letter this week...

Thanks for sharing man. :thumbup::beer:
