Felo,Wera,Wiha & Cman Pro

Well, I needed to start replacing my Cman pro's as the tips continue to break on me and craftsman continues to discontinue the certain ones I break. Figured I should retire them to fixing around the house instead of everyday use in the shop.

Ordered a Felo 500, Felo Ergonic, Wera Chiseldriver, and Wiha Microfinish.

Reading on here it sounded like the Wiha and Wera were going to be great.

First impressions were that the Felo Ergonic felt very soft and well built, the 550 felt well built but small. The Wera felt tough but with an akward handle and the Wiha looked cheap and just holding it, felt similar.

Then I started driving some screws. That's where the Wiha grew on me. The Wera was just too akward for my large hands. The Felo 550 was also too small. The Felo Ergonic felt odd and after reading complaints about ergonic grips, and thinking about how the Ergonics felt, I could see how they would fatigue a hand early on. The Wiha's could've even been a bit bigger for me, but it really felt at home in my hand and had a great tip.

Ordered some Wiha soft finish nut drivers since they do not have them in microfinish. I will see how that feels then decide which to order the rest in.

Great info here. I too have found the Wiha screwdrivers to be excellent, their tips seem VERY durable.

I'd like to try the Wera Chiseldriver if you'd be willing to sell it...

I bet you're holding the Wera wrong for it to be uncomfortable.

I some from each of those - except ergonic - and the Wera is by far the best grip.

you know you could always get an associate to order the pro that broke in for you, right? that way, you still have a full set for home, lol

We have a set of Kraftform Plus – Series 300 laser tips. The only one I used was a phillips #2 tip for less than 25 screws (new screws) the tip litterally wore the edges right off smooth. They sent me a replacement, but I haven't had the opotunity to test it yet. I don't have much faith in it, glad they were cheap. I don't have any love for Snap-On, but my old Snap-On black handled screwdrivers can't be beat...ever!

I turn with the end of the scredriver using finger tips. The wera doesn't fit my style as it tapers off. Then when i need the torque I grab and squeeze, again the Wera's tapered end just doesn't work for me.

Maybe I'm holding it wrong, but I think that's the reason I bought them all to try them and see which one fits my style best.

I still think the Wera is a great screwdriver and I'll keep it just so I have it, but its not my cup of tea I guess.

No they couldn't . I had two really good guys both times I went in with broken ones. Each time they checked with OEM and could not get that specific one anymore. They offered me the cheaper version or a different size pro. One of the other ones I broke, they were able to replace though.

Wiha are my favorite drivers. I have felo and wera. While they are all very nice. The wiha just felt the most comfortable.

Actually they do make metric nut drives in micro finish. Only available in Europe. They are 5.5, 6,7,8 and 19mm nut drivers. There are more for the soft finish.

It took me a while to figure out how to hold the screwdriver to make it feel good.
Don´t just wpap the whole hand arond it.

Try too place the hand a little way back like this, and i think that maybe some likes it better, i do. Then the grip really comes handy!

^+1. I found with the Wera screwdrivers that once I changed the way I held the handle, I really liked the way it felt in my hand.

I have a set of witte that are re-badged for matco that i really like. These are German made and hold up well. They are to expensive through matco but reasonably priced under the witte name.

Ill try holding the wera different but i hold all screwdrivers similar to thr way you hold it in your second pic. my main issue was still the comfort when using them for speed without needing all of the torque. then its justy finger tips and the wera wasnt shaped right for that.
