My shop is close to the road and that area is about the only place I have on the property to store my gear, stuff and junk. So, I needed a fence both for that and to eliminate the sight lines into that 8’ door. I rarely open that door as the world can then see into it as you come up the road. We are seeing steady 90’s and I don’t cool the shop, so getting the fence up has allowed me to open that door and the Cross ventilation is wonderful. I had a pile of the core-ten siding left over from the shop build, so this allowed me to use it up. The rest is cedar with PT posts. Granted that a fence only keeps the honest people honest but it contains my junkyard, which is best. My wife came out and decided,”oh, I can plant flowers.” I promised her that if she planted anything out there the next time she came to water it there would be a pallet on it:rocker: you have to know how to communicate. I got my first utility bill since the solar went in. Used 169 kWh and produced 737.

I have found that the Load Beams from Pallet Racks make very nice fence posts. One fence I built with free load beams, the next fence 10' steel load beams cost me $10 each.

I did have to trim the bracket off the ends and weld tabs to bolt the pressure treated rails to; but that's why I have tools.
