Yea my ts55 track saw took a dump mid rip. Hahah that sounds funny. But im crying. Anyone have any experience with festool support, warantee, repairs? I emailed them already. going to try and call them again.

By the way. It did not overheat. I've had this happen before.

Got this tool about 8 years ago, and it pretty much has been running 3 days out of the week average. I am mid project for a client to build custom closets, and need this fixed pretty much yesterday. Pretty sure I'm going to have to buy a new one, and get this one fixed, netting me two TS55s. So this will be cool.

Is it even possible to fix these by yourself? Or locally? I am freaking out. Feel like someone cut one of my nuts off.

Anyone know a good place to get one from, that will do overnight shipping? Ty all.

*****. I've only had mine for 3 months and I'd nearly lose my identity if it $hit the bed given how it's changed my workflow and my fixtures would be useless. Only had one weird moment thus far with mine. Was cutting a 3/4-inch Baltic birch sheet and the 55 just quit like someone pulled the plug. Surprised the hell out of me and it even took me a few seconds to register the event. A re-fire worked so I chaulked it up to pushing it too hard.

Rumor has it they'll (festool usa) do next day shipping to get it handled quick but I have no personal experience - only what I've read on FOG. They're supposed to be a huge pro-friendly company and recognize the pro needs his tools.

If you really need to buy one tomorrow you'll probably need to find a local dealer or try next day prime on Amazon. Here's their locator - https://www.festoolusa.com/where-to-buy/

Edit: just checked - TS55 on Amazon isn't prime so next day will be really expensive.

Good luck.

For how much they cost Festool should immediately deliver a new one to you via black helicopter and have the supermodel of your choice give you a ******* for the trouble.

What exactly happened to it? Switch problems (getting power?) or loud grinding noise when you turn it on?

I'm wondering if Festool has any local factory authorized service centers like most other power tool manufacturers tend to have. If they do, they hide the directory on their website quite well.

Do you have an extra power cord that fits the saw? I've heard of those failing so a lot of guys keep a spare or two on hand.

If it is that valuable then having a second may be the way to go. Maybe get a 75. Maybe sell me the old one to me cheap. Just saying.

I'm interested in hearing about what happens, and if you find out what broke.

8 years with 3 days of use each week is a pretty good run. Maybe the brushes wore out?

I'm not sure why the word warranty would even pop up in relation to an 8 year old tool used frequently for commercial purposes. You make out like there's some kind of major design flaw with the tool or something.

Contact Festool service. I've been there and met the people that service the tools. Top notch service from a top notch tool company.

I would be surprised if there is any warranty left. i bought a Festool hand planer for a special job. Only used infrequently for a couple weeks and it sounded like a bearing starting to go out.

I was just saying warantee because what if there is something that I don't know. Please don't troll me.

So they got back to me via email right away. I got a link to fill out a repair order, and will try to send it out in the next day or two. I ordered a replacement from Bob Marino. That is actually where I initially got all my festool tools and maintenance parts.

I have lots of power chords, I've actually cut a few. Tried this chord on domino, domino works. Tried domino chord, ts55 no go. Yea there is a sound, like a buzz. Def gets power. Not the brushes. Took it to a shop, said I need to send it out.

Found a festool dealer by me, they sell everything, but not the saws, WTF.

Lilscorpion you probably overheated it. Happens when you go too fast, especially when new. I haven't had that happen to me in a while. Maybe I learned. I do have all the blades they offer, so could be the blade you used, but if it's not chipping, or tearing, then your blade is fine. Yea I drank the festool juice.

I don't want the 75. It is heavier, and I am deeply invested into blades, and whatever else I have for the 55. Plus, 8 trouble free years is good service, no need for 75.

Sad part is it still looks really good. I only dropped it 3 times. No scratches even. Looks like I'm gonna get hit for about $300 for a reman unit. Better look as good. But two of these will improve my life a bit, and I am not too stressed anymore. One less box to unpack. Ty all.

I've ordered from Bob before top notch service.

From everything I've read, Festool is great at repairing tools. They keep a full inventory of parts here in the U.S.

Sounds like it might be the electronics (the saw will adjust rpm based on load).

Hope the repair isn't too expensive.

Ok so update. Found a dealer locally that delivered it. Same day. Yea baby. $660 hand delivered. Took my busted saw. Said seems motor, not the brush part, is most likely fried. Normal for my amount of service. So he took saw, said festool will call when ready. I told them to fix no matter what, and don't delay.

He had the Kapex saw with him. I honestly got a hard on. The dust extraction is nuts. The features, OMG. Too bad can't drop $1200, especially since I already have 3 miter saws.

Maybe this will make you feel better. I sell a type of machine (not a tool), that costs up to $9000 that in 8 years will have zero factory support and 80% of them will be scrapped by then. Very few of them will see anywhere near three days per week of solid use, and those that do will likely need service every year after year three.

Are you aware that there is a recall on the 55's? Check their site and see if yours is one of the affected serial numbers. Mine is and I have not yet sent it in. I'm using it on some floor projects in the house.

Yes it does. Lol. It's not like the saw runs non stop, but I don't take it out to cut two sheets either. Yes I know this was a great investment. Makes me think again about that miter saw.

Jackfre. No I was not aware. I don't internet too much during the day. Some at night. This is really only time I have to use interwebs, plus emails. Any clue as to what the recal is about?

Just to give you all an update. Got the saw back yesterday. Cost me $250 with 2 day return air shipping.

They fixed a lot.

New trigger, new case, new motor, new plunge gear. They usually replace peoples saws with previously rebuilt ones, but apparently my saw was too old, and had to be fixed. Pretty much took three weeks. Now I have 2 of them. The old one looks and feels brand new. Just have to another set of clamps, and I'm set.

Its nice to know you get really good customer service after forking out Festool levels of cash, 8 years at 3 days a week would be bin time for most of the main tool brands.

they make good stuff. I hate to be a brand fan boy, but so far the tools that I do own from them, are superior in many ways to other manufacturers. Even though when I first got the ts55, I was weary of all the plastic. It really is a test of self control when I am around the festool distributors these days.
