Hello all been a lurker for sometime I'm a plumber by trade and a tool a holic never heard or seen these German made tools until I got look of klein klaw waterpump pliers at my local whole saler. The question is the the klein pump pliers are a rebrand of nws quattrogrips, do nws pliers self lock like the knipex cobras and as a brand what tools from these German company's would you recommend for a plumber

I'd venture to say the NWS Quattro-Gripp is a rebrand of the Knipex Cobra.

They may be but nws rebranded those quattrogrips for klein tools I'm wondering if they self grip like knipex cobras or if they are even as close to as good

I was in Derby, UK a few weeks ago. Saw NWS pliers for the first time at a hardware store. Made in Germany and all. My impression was that the NWS's finish is not as good as the Knipex. So I dont think they are the same.... just my opinion ; )

The NWS are self locking just like Knipex. In addition, You only need to press the button to open them. They adjust/close by pushing on the handle. Knipex only offers that feature on their Cobra QuickSet.

Knipex Pliers Wrench is awesome. Does everything an open end adjustable can do plus has wratcheting capability. Also, the jaws are smooth so you won't scratch up bathroom fixtures.

The klein rebrands are not self locking I thought when you squeeze the pliers on a nut or fitting they would lock but they do not

They don't lock like Vice Grips but they allow you to put pressure on the static handle only when tightening or loosening. In other words, you don't have to squeeze both handles together.
