Few years back I remodeled my house, squeaking second floor issues

I have an ungrateful and unwanted long term guest that I have given eviction notice to for failure to grow up and become an adult at 31. My Gal's deadbeat son that won't support his daughter. Enough on that it gives me heart burn.

Anyway I'll call him kid, anyway he walks on the balls of his feet and thumps and I'm sick of the noise. I plan to use a cork underlayment after he's gone beacuse the floors now squeak and drives me nuts. When I remodeled I sistered 2x12's to the 2x8's that were the joists screwing them with lags together and then I put Advantech subflooring down and screwed and glued it to the old wide planks and tried to hit joists accordingly. It was quiet for 7 years but after he has moved in it seems I need something use to quiet the space between the floors and the drywall ceiling.

It's a nice space up there basically a master suite with it's own bath and mini split for heat and cooling on it's own zone. My gal is moving in with me and the deadbeat's daughter who is now 9 will be enjoying the space but she too walks on balls of her feet to the tune of thump thump thump. Arg. The carpet and rug pad don't help.
