I just got one and am surprised how small the handle feels. I don't have any F832 hard handle any more but I seem to recall that they were a bit larger. I do like it though, enough to consider selling my FH80.

The handles on my f836, fh936, and fhlfd80 are all pretty much the same size. If anything the handle on my new flex head looks slightly bigger.

the soft grip handles are longer and some of the older soft grip handles were bigger as well. these new ones are a bit smaller, but too many people complain that the handles are too big so they made them smaller

What vintage is the ratchet?

Is it of the same vintage as the famous shrinking black and/or red screwdriver handles? Actually, it was more than just slotted, Phillips, and pozidriv screwdriver handles. The handles for my flexible GM points adjuster tool, brake shoe retainer washers tools, headlight spring tool, door panel retainer clip tools, etc all shrank and eventually crumbled.

Come to think of it, I've only got a couple of few screwdrivers and a chisel holder left that DIDN'T shrink and crumble. That's what I never did understand the obsession of people wanting to pay big dollars for tools with those handles. The later four sided handles with the fluted recess for your thumb didn't seem to have the problem.

I had some of those where they eventually shrunk to less than half of their original size before either crumbling or starting to liquidfy.

I am talking about a brand new FHD80R, I didn't check the date code but it is probably 2012.
