Insulated steel garage doors with fiberglass outer layer looking real rough after 23 years.
Clopay brand, hardware, frame rails, inside panels all in good shape.
Estimate to replace 3 9x7 door was over $10k.

So……two washings witha strong soap, scuff with 3m gray pads, touch up a few areas with gel stain and two coats of spar urethane exterior “varnish“.

Nice. Does the gel stain penetrate?

Not on fiberglass, maybe just alittle. The original color was an orangey maple, there were a few spots where the original color was gone and white color was showing through. In my case the gel stain was used to cover the white.
On YouTube there a videos of professional painters using gel stain on fiberglass front doors to change color or touch up. It appears to be an art form to simulate the grain on complete color change.
