started off with minging stairs - they had been deep stained at some point in their life before i bought the house - then carpeted , first thing i did when i moved in was ripped the carpet up and was greeted with above (excluding the batons ive nailed on the front - but you get the general idea)

glued on and secret nailed the riser cladding to the batons using 63mm pins from the hitachi gas nailer.

Using one full width board for each step front - i then took a 9.5mm half round trend router bit and using a jig i made to hold the workpiece i routed both top and bottom of the nose.

i used a combination of no more nails and a flooring porta nailer to secret nail the risers on top then dumped heavy things on to hold them down till everything set.

Im quite happy with the end result - i was warned i had to get my lines straight up the stairs or it would look a dogs dinner - i think i got it quite good. The old lady is very happy and it should stop her complaining about my other projects cluttering up the yard - for a while.

Wood used was 18mm Tongue and groove solid oak
