Fieldpiece SC53

Just got it used for free from a buddy, trying to figure out how it works. It won't switch out of AC mode, even if I turn the knob, and won't show the bottom display. Couldn't find any help online just the manual, no troubleshooting. Anyone ever use this model and have any advice/ideas?

Sounds like its busted! Its digital so other than the dial, theres no moving parts.

May be why it was free.

Warranty?

I called them up and they gave me a RMA number and told me they'd replace or fix it! You don't often hear good stories about companies, but here's one. Will definitely be a strong factor in anything else electrical tool related I buy.

Cool! I usually get Fluke equipment so i dont know much about Fieldpiece...

Yes, all my other stuff, voltage meters, rms clamps, temp guns, are all fluke. I always viewed fieldpiece as entry level, but since I got it for free I didn't want to just throw it out. But now with this warranty thing I will definitely think twice. They are a little bit cheaper than Fluke too.
