Fighting with dually valve stems

I have an F550 with 19.5" rims, and I am having a difficult time filling the dual rear wheel tires. The inner rim is the biggest PITA, as the valve stem is angled just enough to keep a straight style truck air chuck from properly seating. I was just about convinced to put a bend in my air chuck, but see where you can buy angled adapters. Are these worth the trouble, or am I simply missing something simple? I know the outer rim can be difficult as well, as the angled rear portion of the chuck will "jam" itself into the cutout in the rim as you are trying to pull it in place.

Suggestions, tips??

What kind of Chuck are you using? I don't remember it being a big deal on mine. Makes s big difference if the rims aren't lined up.

My local tire shop refuses to deal with the dually valve stem extensions.

Says the have seen too many leaks and destroyed tires from subsequent under inflation. His insurance carrier has outlawed them if he wants to remain covered by his policy.

I went there looking for a set for my F450 and F350 dually.

Buy the extensions for 25 bucks.
Any chuck is the same bend and search operation if you don't move the valve.

I *think* I would be fine if I added a slight bend to the straight portion of the air chuck...it would allow it to clear the side of the outer rim, especially when filling the insider rim.

These might be a viable solution as well, but as mentioned above, I would be concerned about them leaking...that being said, they would make it a lot easier to check the air pressure.

I use these on my Dodge 3500 and previously on a Ford 350. They work.
I struggled before I got these about 20 years ago as long as the wheels are lined up.

60 years in the trucking business. Bend tester to fit. Might have to have two testers. Never use extensions or external mounted tpms. My opinion.

I dont have any experience with HF Merlin products and have never bought anything from Amazon or Ebay. Have no pictures to show because no one uses those type extensions on trucks and no tire shop will install them on commercial vehicles. Its kind of install at your own risk on personal type vehicles like RV,s

I have 4 types of Milton air chucks for trucks. Straight and angled along with the 12" types. These work on most trucks including tube type split rims. Could be somebody installed a angled valve stem in the wrong position

Those 19.5 tires take a minimum of 70 lbs up to 120 lbs. That a lot of pressure for Chinese engineered extensions to handle. On a work truck you back down into muddy places and go forward when the wheels start to spin.

My thoughts are there is undo pressure from mud, snow, rocks, branches and tall grass on those extensions. Especially when the mud hardens or the snow turns to ice

I put skull caps on my truck's tires stems. Didn't think anything about it. In about a year the skulls lost their plating, a year later the valve stems on my tires started failing. Cracked and one by one leaking air. Replaced the stems and never put the skull caps back on and have never had another issue like that. Evidently the air the caps caught or the weight one or the other, flexed or stressed the air stems to prematurely fail.

As to super singles. Used to run N50 Mickey Thompsons on my high school car. Treacherous on wet roads. Those tires rode on top of the water.

How about bending the metal valve stem itself?
Or using the prebent ones.
