I have a nice old steel file cabinet, small height drawers, I've been using for tools, and would like to paint to match my other boxes. I was going to go black for the box, and red for drawers.

What paint have people used? Roll it on or spray? thanks.

Unless something is big, or needs a really good finish, I rattle can it. For a four drawer file cabinet--that's right on the line, so I might go either way, probably spray gun, good finish.

Mix up your paint and roll it. This one is from 1975 and still going strong.

I have done both roll and spray for my cabinets. Use a foam cabinet roller after removing all handles and such. I sand all surfaces, then remove the drawers and stand them on end to paint.
