file cabinet storage idea

So im looking at picking up one or two of these. Turning them side ways and using them as slanted shelves. Anyone have any expierence, the cost seems really good.http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=181419782269&globalID=EBAY-US&alt=web

I have seven large file cabinets that I would prefer over those slanted shelf units... No matter how those units are set; you are going to have a congluterated thingamagig that will be a pain to clean.. With the shelf pointed uphill, any dust or debris is going to end up in the inner crevice of the shelf... Those are a purpose built unit, but shop use is not that purpose.

All it needs is doors, or a cover for the front, to keep dust off. Even a drape or curtain would help.

But the cost is too high for me.

You can pick up regular file cabinets for $15 or even free. They are a drug on the market.

I wonder if they're strong enough to use as a bolt bin? 72 holes is a lot of space.

You do realize they have holes between the spaces? The corners are chopped at ~45° between the compartments.
