I'm sure this must be the last Secret Santa gift to get posted here. Nissan was slightly delayed in getting the gift to me and then I was very delayed in getting to post it up, due to a memory card reader fiasco (sorry Nissan).

For my Secret Santa gift, Nissan_Crawler made me an awesome clock, fabricated from a differential ring gear, some wrenches, a saw blade and clock guts.

Nissan posted 'teaser pics' in the run up to SS and it was driving me nuts trying to guess what he was making!

The clock is awesomely made with great attention to detail. Since having it on the wall (about 10 days, and yes, i did have to find a stud) I've had many enquiries and compliments about the clock, with several asking where they could get one. Maybe a business op should the economy keep going South Nissan?

Anyway, just wanted to say a big THANKS!! to Nissan-Crawler for the awesome Secret Santa gift. The clock itself is great and I'm sure any gearhead would love one on the wall, but the personal touch of knowing that you made it makes it even more appreciated.:beer:

Thanks again,

g24

Glad you like it. I'm thinking about doing something similar for my garage. I love to tinker with stuff like that. Metal animals, clocks, keeps me from being idle. I did a clock for my kitchen, too. It's a burner from an old wood/coal burning oven, some old barn wood, fencing staples, and I antiqued the clock hands.

Also note that the clock is in close proximity to the puller board. This ensures you are able to check how close to coffee/lunch break it is before commencing to attempt pulling off that big-***, rusted gear/pulley/bearing lol

WOW!!! That clock is great!

Nissan really raised the bar there. I better start thinking now about what I'm going to do for this year's SS... :headscrat

That is a work of art. How much was the shipping:bounce:. Very cool idea

Thank god for priority mail, love the flat rate. :bounce:

Nice, real nice.

BTW, are those US made wrenches used or HF?:lol_hitti

Popular Mechanics. Pretty decent wrenches really for what they are, but my set is pretty broken up through missing/damaged ones, and I'm to OCD to have a mix and match tool set in my box. :spit: My other chinese ones looked like poo, wouldn't have worked well on the clock.

P.S. Drilling a saw blade is a beeotch. It took some work to do, even plug welding the wrenches onto the blade warped it horribly, I had to warm it up and tack weld it flat to get everything happy.
