I'm finally getting around to post some pics of the shop I built when I retired and moved back to FLA. It's 40x30, with 12 1/2 foot ceiling on the lift side and 10 1/2 on the attic storage side. I'm going to post pics I have taken in hopefully a decent order of the build. If you have any questions let me know. The floor is 4" and I had them make the section for the lift deeper, not sure how deep it is.

Here are more of the build. I had them do the exterior only so I could set up the inside how I wanted. The ceiling on the pic with my wife is the 12' side.

I installed boxes on the ceiling for all the lights and have the switched by the man door. I ran a 220 circuit to the ceiling for the lift and to the back corner of the shop for the welder and compressor. The ran a breaker for each 4-5 plugs on the walls, and ran wiring to the outside front of the shop for a streetlight and one to the side for a motion light. The breaker box is bigger than I needed for the future.

After I ruffed in the wiring I insulated all the walls. I then put up sheets of plywood 8' high for the walls. I used sheetrock in my last shop and had to many problems putting stuff on the walls. I then built a workbench down one side of the shop and left enough room at the end to put my parts washer. We painted all the walls and the bench after that.

Finished up the walls and painted them, then painted the work bench and tried to get some things organized. Very hard to do with over 20 years of stuff piled up from our last house. Next steps were putting in a fold down ladder and put up some shelves I picked up for a couple hundred.

I had the ceiling insulation done by the people who did the house. They put up what they needed before the ceiling and walls were sheet rocked. After the sheet rock was done they used blow in insulation for the rest of the ceiling.

I had the sheet rock installed because it was too much for me alone. Doing the insulation in June in Fl (mid to upper 90's) was enough by myself let alone doing the sheet rock to. Next is painting the ceiling and getting the wiring approved and finished.

Painting the ceiling was a real pain, used paint with primer but still had to do 3 coats. I made some doors for the work bench and trim for the walls and painted them. I trimmed the walls and doors with the strips I cut and painted just to make it look a little neater.

I got all the wiring finished up and the led lights installed just in time. My new compressor and lift are here. I had my son help with the lift and you do what you have to do to get it up. Safety sometimes has to come second......
