Big day yesterday.. My VMC got delivered.. I've been running my Tormach for the last couple of years making a little bit of everything.. Really like the whole process of having an idea and then turning it into something real. Did a lot of research and ended up with more machine than I need right now, but everyone said I'd be sorry if I didn't go bigger. Anyway...

Whoa, congrats! I ran Haas machines for several years and found them intuitive, easy to use, reliable and rigid. You've made a great choice. I'm floored you went full bore on the VF2 instead of something like the tool room mill or the mini mill. What type of stuff do you run?

I looked hard at the Toolroom mills TM1P/2P... Once you start adding anything on to them you are pretty close to a VF1 and then a little more to get the bigger X travel on the VF2.

Anything you tell it to. It's a CNC vertical mill for machining metal.

Edit: I guess technically a Vertical Machining Center.

Hey, thanks guys!!! I'm pretty excited about it. I'm lucky that I have a wife that supports my wild ideas and endeavors. I'm sure I will be running the rapids at 5% for the first few cycle starts.. lol.. More to come, lots of ideas for stuff..

The Haas is CAT40, and the Tormach uses their own TTS system. No ATC on the Tormach but I did install a pneumatic drawbar. I've been running multiples of the same part so the ATC should be great!

Will your tooling from the Tormach work in the Haas? Did your tormach have an ATC? If not you will be in heaven with the Haas.
