After my divorce in 2019 i have been renting. Typically I would rent a home and rent separate shop space elsewhere. This really wasn't conducive to working on anything and ended up being more like storage.

Fast forward to march. I closed on a house. .8 acres total, 30x36 shop and a 2300 sq ft split level.

The shop isn't perfect but its nice to have something thats mine. Its insulated. Has heat. A 200 amp panel and 2 roll up doors.

I've converted most of my lights to direct line LED's already. So lighting is good. It has some overhead storage which is helpful, and i have a separate shed on the property that im using for storage of larger things like tires and body parts for my 66 f100 project.

I do need to figure out the heat. Its mounted up in the roof and i need to either install a ceiling fan or something to draw the heat down. The shop will easily be 50-55* at the floor with the dial on the heater at 3(out of 5) but if i stand on my ladder and reach near the ceiling its much much warmer.

On to some photos. I'd love to hear some ideas or criticism.

I like the shop. If that white unit shown below is the only heater. The dividing wall it is facing may be limiting better air distribution. Would it be possible to move it to a more central location or add another unit on the opposite wall?

Nice space. Some type of fan or fans to circulate the air will help tons in there. I mounted three harbor freight blowers in my shop and it makes a world of difference in there.

Yes that is the heater. I don't think the wall is much of a disruption. The shop is also not nearly big enough to need another heater, especially since it's usually in the 40s in the winter here. Pretty mild. The two parcels of the shop are the same temp. The wall doesn't go to the ceiling no is it full length. I just need a fan to move the air.

Depending on your location a mini split might pay for itself after a few years. Worth considering what the additional time cost and cash cost would be if you're already considering spending the time cost to move the heater.

I put a couple air filtration units on my ceiling. Keeps the heat circulating while they filter the air. Surprising how much dust gets pulled out of the air with those fans.

I'm not moving the heater, just wanting to better circulate air.

A mini split would provide no real benefit. I don't need AC in the shop. Summers are routinely in the 70s. High 80is is rare and 90+ is unheard of. The weather where i am is very mild, and keeping my shop in the 50's is plenty warm for me. I am just looking for a method to circulate the heat that is already being provided, more evenly. As many have mentioned an air blower or a ceiling fan will be fine. I have enough lights through the shop that simply putting a fan on one of the junction boxes and hanging it off the ceiling will work fine.
