Aw shucks I'm blushin'

How far behind GMT are you in Cincinnati? My wife and I have done a bit of travelling around in the USA but not been to Ohio - yet?!?

Please let Cincinnati be in Ohio otherwise I'm going to look like a total prat here. :)

You are 5 hrs ahead of me, so right now it is 6:15pm EST, so it is 11:15pm in your area, GMT, according to what I found on the net.

And yes, Cincinnati IS in OH, so you are good, so you are not going to look like a "prat", which is a new word for me. I will have to start using that one.

Well, a coule of things went on today:

My custom counter top got finished along with the "stoop" for the frig to sit on, why they did that, I guess my contractor thought it would look nicer than just the plain concrete. He also did the kick plate too.

The electrician was out to start on some of the stuff, but was not able to stick around too long, but got a couple of the plugs in, and all the can lights installed.

The cable co. came out today to install the cable and the cable modem and run the main line out to the box in the yard.

My contractor showed up a little later in the day and installed the shutters that go on the front window on the doomer and alos got a couple of the door handles on.

HVAC guys finished up setting the AC unit outside, but we are still waiting for the Propane Co to come out to "turn on" the propane.

Here a couple of pics from today:

Pics of the counter top and sink installed:

The "stoop" for the Frig. that he made:

SANY1162.jpg

I hope to have some lights up and working in the next day or so.

OMG, I almost forgot, I call today from my rep this afternoon and he told me that my lift was at his shop and that they were not going to be able to install the lift on Saturday, but next week some time. I can't beleive he was able to get one of the lifts that he had on order painted black for me, while they were in process of being built.

And then, at the end of the day, I got another call from him and he told me the job that they were going to do on Friday and finish up on Saturday, was missing some parts for the install, and wanted to know if they could install the lift THIS FRIDAY:D:D:D:D:D:D I told him, I thought that would be OK, no really I was screaming in the phone with joy that it would be GREAT if they could install on Friday. SO I will have my lift on Friday!!!!

I will get more pics of the can lights and what ever he gets done tomorrow. Only a couple more things to finish up and it will be time to move in!!!!!

Thanks for looking and reading.

Why would you need a second cable modem? Don't you already have one in the house?

Wow. This is so awesome. Nice break getting the lift in on friday!

Yeah, that is what I thought too, I have been pretty lucky

Why would you need a second cable modem? Don't you already have one in the house?

Yes I do, but the run is over 100 ft and the router is in my basement, so I do not get signal out there.

Having the second modem will just make things easier all around. I can get great signal on my laptop while I am out there and if the second floor becomes a apartment, then they will be able to use it and be able to use the cable that is out there as well.

Prat is a great word. It's an insult but a very mild one so is useful in every social occasion. I.E.

Queenie "Phil, I've left the keys to Windsor Castle in the other carriage"
Phil The Greek "Oh Lizzie you are a prat"

******* is another superb word. Along similar lines to prat but slightly harsher. I.E

Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham "Duh David, you know, I've forgotten to, you know, eat for a month - again, you know"
David Mencap Beckham "Oh fishface you are a *******"

It's looking great. Sounds like nobody is wasting any time getting things done for you. You're very lucky to have a great contractor!

And that's freakin awesome about the lift coming early. Bonus!

Today, once again, they got alot done.

The Plumber was in and finished up all of the plumbing, setting the tolet, all the faucets, installing the urinal and putting the fixtures in the shower.

The Electrician was in and finally got some lights working for me, so I can see in there this weekend when I am doing my stuff.

All of my speakers and such came in today via UPS. My floor from RaceDeck showed up today at the house, all 17 cartons.

(Sorry so short, but I am tired tonight)

On with the pics:

First, the plumbing:

Water shut off panel, still needs to be painted"

SANY1183.jpg

Now the Electricians stuff he did today:

Exhaust Fan installed with speed controller:

SANY1184.jpg

I had him install black plugs on the wall, since they are all in the black stripe: One pic with a flash and the other without.

SANY1180.jpg

SANY1178.jpg

Here is a pic of my special little guy hanging out with me, and he was nice enough to stand for a pic for me, while, I actually asked him to get over there and stand for me and say "Cheese"

SANY1164.jpg

I GOT LIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SANY1165.jpg

SANY1166.jpg

Out side dormer lights, first with it still light out and the other when it got dark:

SANY1167.jpg

SANY1187.jpg

Plugs for all my stereo stuff and the open spots are for the cable, HDMI cable, and cat 5 cable:

SANY1182.jpg

Ac unit set and gas line installed:

SANY1185.jpg

SANY1186.jpg

Oh and the stack of RaceDeck that I got today:

12" deep. It is nice to have a nice deep sink in a garage.

Well, thanks for looking, I still have a lot of work to do though before it is "finished"

I just hope I continue on with the "Finishing Touches", but the finishing touch money is running out VERY fast.

Looking good. Nice touch to use the black outlets.

Yeah, I was just going to do white, but they suggested to do black, and they were right. Now when you look at the wall from a distance, you can barely see them.

Sorry to keep up guys waiting, but I have pretty busy. Friday I was out, All day Saturday I worked in the garage and Today I spent the day with the family.

Anyways, like a said before, On friday, they installed the lift, I was able to be there for a little bit to snap some pics of them unlaoding, unpacking it, and setting the post up to drill into the concrete, then I had to get back to work.

Saturday, My Friend Tyler and Steven came over and helped me all day and night, for the most part, installing all the speakers throughout the garage, install the surround sound, and hang up my screen and projector. We hooked up the receiver and cable box just to see if everything worked and IT DID. All I have to say about the screen and projector is, HOLLY COW!!!!! Very much over kill for a "garage", but I got a GREAT deal on it and I could not pass it up, that is the ONLY reason I installed it. I would have NEVER had payed full price for something like this. Plus I got the receiver new off Craiglist for next to nothing too.

OK, OK, enough with the "words" and on with the pics of the lift and speaker setup:

THE LIFT:

SANY1197.jpg

SANY1198.jpg

SANY1199.jpg

Now I have never seen a trailer like this before, but they can lower in all the way to ground to unload, and they said that it will also raise all the way to dock height if need be. Pretty cool, here is a pic of it all the way lowered:

SANY1200.jpg

Unwapping the present:

SANY1201.jpg

SANY1203.jpg

Here they are raising the post to be able to move them into place:

SANY1206.jpg

The post set in place, ready to be drilled:

SANY1208.jpg

SANY1209.jpg

When I got home from work, I had a nece pretty new lift all finished and ready for power to be hooked up to it, which will happen at the beginning of this week.

Drum roll...........

SANY1237.jpg

SANY1235.jpg

SANY1234.jpg

Here are some shots of all the speaker installed through out the garage. The center bay I have two speakers and the other two I have one, along with back of the center and the far back left bay I have one as well:

Here is the center bay:

SANY1217.jpg

Here is a shot of all the ones in the front part of the garage:

SANY1219.jpg

Here are the two in the back half of the garage:

SANY1220.jpg

Here is all of the surround sound installed, including the projector and the screen:

Rear speakers, I was only sent one, I have to get another one, that is why there is a open hole:

SANY1221.jpg

The center speaker ened up in the black line, so I painted the frame black, but part of it was in the white, so I taped off the top of the speaker so that it blended in with the wall, I still have to get a grate for the front:

SANY1224.jpg

Here it is, the screen installed with the front speakers installed:

SANY1231.jpg

Just to get an idea as to the size of the screen, which is 110" screen, I had my special little guy Preston stand next to it and say "Cheese". He is 6, and he is about 4' tall.

SANY1232.jpg

Well, I hope it was what you all were waiting for. I think everything turned out great, and once again, I am glad that I waited for the Black lift.

THANKS TO EVERYONE for all your input and comments on this build, I love this site and I am SO glad I found it and have been able to share this with you guys. Thanks!!:beer:

Well done. The black lift was definitely the way to go. Fits in just right. I like the way the front center speaker fits in to the black stripe on the wall. Very slick.

Also looks like the screen is still pretty bright even with the daylight on it (a problem sometimes with projectors). That's going to be a *great* place to hang out.

No, No, I am not signing off, I have just been thinking of all the help everyone has given me and how much GJ has helped me with so much stuff.

Oh, DON'T Worry, I am FAR from being total finished, there is still alot to do.

Heck, I still have 17 boxes of RaceDecking to put down, Benches to build and install, Shelves to build, to something with the bathroom, hang up all my stuff on the walls, which I have not said anything about yet, some pretty cool stuff, at least I think so.

More to come everyone:bounce::beer::thumbup:

Man I hope you have plenty of room with the beam right there in front of the lift. Seems like it would hit the hood if you had it up. Guess we will have to wait to see a car or truck up on it to see. But that is the first thing I thought when I seen some of the side pics. What you think?

There is plenty of rm, we made sure to measure before we placed the lift. Even with our 2500 HD truck, at full lift it will be fine. Cars, you will not have to worry about becasue you do not have to pull that far up.

Oh, maybe I did not mention, but the lift is a asymmetric lift, so the front of the car is not that far forward. I know it is kinda hard to see in the pic, but its all good.;)
