Finally building the detached garage!

Well, for months I have posed several questions to the community as we refined our plan. We are finally underway.

It started as a 2.5 car detached garage with living space above and has evolved into a 3 car detached with living space.

Since everyone was so helpful, I thought I would start this thread for any that were interested.

Here are pics of the area prior to project initiation.

Once the trees were cleared, we brought in several truckloads of dirt to prepare the pad

Then it was time for concrete

I wish I had poured my concrete first! But it was cold here and I didn't want to deal with Freezing when I was pouring. Albeit a warm winter so far really.

Once the concrete cured, the carpenters were able to frame her up pretty quick.

We had to change the original ceiling design as I did not want any posts in the garage bay

Looks like the front elevation will fit quite well in your lot. Nice idea.

Did they steel-trowel your concrete? I can see a few lines in the surface from what would look like the rough-bull-floating stage.

Yes they used a steel trowel. They did not do multiple passes during the drying phase as we didn't want a smooth finish.
