Hi MWS444, I thought I would check in and see how you've been? I just noticed that you dropped in recently and that you continue to make good progress. Hope all is well and I selfishly look forward to you getting back into the shop.

We all understand the priorities of life, so do what you have to and we'll be waiting...

All the best,

Paul

Ok, these garages keep getting better/bigger!!! I see one and THINK I have seen it all, but NOPE. This building is nothing short of amazing and very purpose built. I like that! Make it as big as you want...as long as you use it, and it appears you do. I read the description of your house and immediately showed the wife. We just bought our first home. It is quite large, and older. Built in 55, but the laundry room is not directly in the house. You have to walk through a sun room into another "building/maid's quarters." From the outside, it all flows well, but SHE HATES it. It gets cold out there as the doors to the attached garage are not sealed/insulated. I love it. The basement entrance is out there as well. I like that tucked away form the little kids we have running around now. That is my spring project...find some space we are not occupying indoors to make a laundry room! Good luck with finishing the home...sounds nice! Your hard work has paid off...really! Sit back, enjoy, and pat yourself on the back!

Hey guys, Sorry I have been MIA lately. Things are still wild and crazy, and I have been busy. Here are some pics of the our house, well the part I am guessing a few here would appreciate.....the back yard.
I believe I had already posted some pics of the pool, which was built in 2006 but replastered in this round of yard mods. I also did an outdoor kitchen, and koi pond with a waterfall. Here are a couple of "Before shots"

Stupid question..... I noticed that the sheetrock walls on the metal building were connected to the structure. I have noticed my metal building tends to "travel" quite a bit with the winds etc and I intentionally built all framed structures inside well off the metal building structure. On occasion, in high winds (> 40 mph), I still hear the occasional "BANG" as the building migrates far enough to strike the inside structure. Have you seen any cracks in the sheetrock etc that seem to show signs of this in your build? My building is 75' x 75' with the same 18' side walls.

We have very high winds here, in fact Tuesday night they hit 70 mph. The building was engineered for 110 mph wind. The side walls you see were built with three 6x6 square tubing with 1/4" walls. The perlins were spaced 5' apart, then 2x4 lumber was run every 12" to attatch the sheetrock. I know all of this is overkill but I like things safe and bullet proof. The apartment is also framed with 2x6's every 12". That being said the tension cables in high winds will wag a bit, but no cracks as of yet.

Awesome garage! Thanks for sharing. I have a mini review request for the lift. Can you tell us how much you like it and basically talk me into buying it? Have you used other lifts in the past and how does the Mohawk compare? I'm basically thinking about buying the same System 1 that you have pictured...

To be honest if you compare the way the Mohawk is built and works vs. all the others there is no comparison. The lift is built just like a forklift on each side, no cables. Over the years in my line of work I have seen way too many cable failures, no way would I walk under anything hanging on cable. The locking system is also bullet proof.
If you get a chance go to their site and take a look at the thickness of the steel in theri lifts vs. the other guys. Is all of this overkill? Maybe, but hey if I am the guy under it yanking transmissions and other heavy parts in and out of a car......No Way

Wow, I can't believe how much time has passed since I have updated things here. A lot of things have happened since my last update. The worse is the divorce that is still dragging on two years now. The best is I have the kids, my shop, house, happiness and continue to be Blessed. Other than new furniture....you all knew that was coming, and a couple of new cars the shop is about the same. I added a C7 Corvette and an BMW M6 Grand Coupe to the stable, she took the CTSV, Grand Cherokee, and BMW 645 Grand Coupe. The house turned out great and we are still enjoying both. I will try to get some time to post up some pics of the house and shop as soon as I get some time.
I hope to get time to also check in on everyone's build, lots of great ones here, as always.

Damn, I can't believe I haven't been here on the forum for almost 10 years. I Still have the shop and enjoy it daily. Still Blessed and getting along well.
Any of the "old timers " still around?
Here are some recent Pics. Just finished the 4" lift on the Jeep. The Vette needs a starter, my poor C5 Camaro has languish too long. Finally ordered the parts to get it back together.
