I cant take it anymore and have to show off the garage.
Broke Ground in March of 2008, I had a neighbor do the grade work, then called all my friends to set the poles and toss up trusses. I designed it myself after a existing garage and some plans I found. 30'x40', 11-1/2' Cieling. Other than pouring Concrete, and Spouting all the work was done by Myself, Brother, Dad, and, my friends.

Metal was put up in Sept. '08.

I am paying for not using foam board under the slab, but I can live with it. (Hadnt found this site yet, and rep kept preaching that I didnt need it)

Concret poured late Sept. '08

Garage Doors up Oct. '08. Everyone said that there was no way to raise the door track and opener on a 8 foot door, it would never work. I didnt listen, and I am glad I didnt, I love the setup. 10' 3" to the bottom of the track!

The garage stayed just a shell until funds built back up. March '09 we started on the inside. Oct. '09 I got the heating up and running. I had a hicup involving the lack of a pressure tank on the house skyrocketing pressures in the system as it is open, but figured it out and it is working perfectly. Thanks to all the knowledge on the board for helping me get the heat set up. I had a hard time finding anyone in Ohio who knew much about the radiant setups.

I had most of the walls painted by fall of '09, but needed to finish the bathroom, window trim, touch up paint, and paint the 1/4" steel for the workbench top.

24' of workbench.

If you cant tell I based the paint off of a Craftsman Truck that my company sponcers, we get banged up parts for free! The girl at lowes had fun wrestling the rear fender into the photo eye to match the colors.

Now I just need to get my brother to stop working on the jeep to help me organize, like that will ever happen. This is a fab shop, not a mancave. This is the cleanest it will ever be, glad I got pics! Hope you enjoy!

Nice job! I enjoy looking at the fine details for tool placement and choice of materials. Raising the roll-up door tracks is a great idea for those looking to have a lift at some point. Picked up a couple of cool ideas. Thanks for sharing the pics!

Thanks for all the compliments. FYI the air tool rack is the extra chunk of garage door opener track that I drilled/ slotted. Free, took 10 mins and I love it!

Thank you all for the compliments, it means alot coming from this board.
I am also open to comments on improvements if anyone has one. Just keep in mind that my first born is due in 2 weeks, so I dont know that anything else will get done anytime soon.

Good looking shop, nice Jeep peeking around the corners there too. I really like to see working shops (and Jeeps), but then again, I'm biased...

And the one from above is my brothers, '76 cj-7 that is pretty much setup the same minus the t18. Both run 35, 15.5 Super Swamper SX's.

You should be able to browse my photobucket for more pics, I think everything is unlocked.

Nice looking trail rigs... Just like my shops, Jeeps are built to be USED, when they're built like that, they're built to be used HARD.

What kind of axles you putting back under it?

As you can see, we don't know nuthin' about no axle swaps around here! :wtf:

Great garage. I like the 3-bay layout a lot, and 24 feet of bench is... just about enough. ;)

Your biggest accomplishment was to get it done before the new baby shows up. Get ready for a long stretch of sleep deprivation where the weeks pass like minutes.

Oddly enough I am going to take a chevy 10 bolt out of a full size and cut it down to 58".
10 bolt is as strong as a dana 44 IMO, and I have 3 sitting in my yard. I only planning on running the 35's so it should do just fine. Just not sure how long it will take with the baby getting there any minute, but I can bash the dana 30 for another year if need be.
Thanks for the compliments.

wow that's crazy. i used to live almost beside you. i am from zanesville as well. i lived in the old white farm house on top of the hill before you cross the bridge. that's my inlaws farm, moved away from there and bought another house and built my shop. as soon as i saw the pics of the shop and jeeps i knew which one it was.

Small world, I spoke with, Kent I think it was, at Dave Cambell's last weekend. I will extend the same invitation to you that I did him, If the garage doors are up, or the lights on, stop by. Just watch the dogs, and my twin brother may be there, you may just have to explain yourself. We have only been there 3 years, but I love the location and great neighbors.
Do you live close still? I see by your profile that you do some paint, I wouldn't mind bugging you about my truck if you decide to stop some time.
Todd.

At this point I would jsut be looking for options/ advice on what to do with the terrible paint that is on the truck now, or possible connections for help. Everything is pretty much on hold for the baby, but trying to get a game plan togeather.
Congrats on the little one.
