These basement garages are popular here due to the hilly area, often they have a suspended slab overhead with another garage above.

Think about adding windows into the new doors to add some light. I have seen a few houses with full glass doors top to bottom, frosted for security. Very cool modern look on some houses. Probably not ideal for extremely cold climates though!

Looks nice but agreed condensation on the inside along with freezing can make it look less modern.

Also they don't offer much R value.

If I didn't live in a place with such cold winters it might have been an option.

Being a Gladiator nut that I am, I am in love with this basement. It it the basis of my future mancave. Please post some more pics. This is awesome.
