Here are a few pics of the interior of my pole barn. Gonna put drywall up then cover it with 1 x 3 T&G pine board. Should finish it off nicely.
More pics coming.

A shot of the ceiling, which I'm going to cover with luan. I plan on putting various signs up there. (Beer, road, and whatever else I can find).

I'll take some pics of the outside and post them later. And I'll keep you up to date with the inside, as well.

I see that you already have the most important piece of equipment in your garage -- the frig!! A gym?! That's going to eat up some valuable real estate in the garage! Just kidding. Kind of. Good luck getting your project wrapped up!

Yep, have to restock it, tho. It's getting a little low. And the gym will eventually be a den... just a cover for right now. Then I'll put the fridge in there.

I used 4x8 5/8 sheets of pine siding for the walls in my small shop. They go up quick.
You can see the picks in the link below.

I was going to use that but my ceiling is 10' high and I didn't want a seam at the 8' mark. The T&G lets me stagger the boards so I won't need to cover the seam.

Your place is very nice, too. Very cabin like, looks relaxing.

I hear you about the seams. My ceilings are 9'. What i did was put trim around the whole perimeter with 1x4 pine that was cut a a 45 degree angle at the top.
Then i added shelves with a reverse 45 on the back so i could simply slide them on and off. Worked out pretty well. Being 6'7" make it a bit easier for me though

For my nine foot wall, I used eight foot sheets of painted T111and put a six inch strip of OSB on the top and bottom. It was a lot cheaper than ordering nine ft sheets. By the time I started hanging stuff on the walls like cabinets and decor, I never noticed it.

So noted... Good idea: Flexible shelving I have a couple Gladiator cabinets I planned on using that idea with to get them off the floor.

Lol'd!! I don't have that much stuff, yet, and the idea of being able to hide the seam never crossed my mind. At least not without trim... Then, is it ever really hidden?

Oh, and here's the outside. Was only able to get the one pic to download correctly. Still working on the bugs.

And that's my '07 Roadking posing out front. Sit. Stay. Good boy!

Awesome shop! And not too far from me it looks like.

People always talk about losing valuable real estate with things other than "typical" garage items. :rolleyes2 It's your area, put what you want in there!

I personally will have a gym setup in my garage (once that day comes!) Mind posting pics of your setup?

Thanks, dangle. I only made the gym "just big enough"... I understand what both of you guys are saying, tho'. Can never have too much space. The gym is being used as temporary storage for the moment. As soon as it's cleared out I'll post some pics.

I like the Molson Canadian sign!

This is the area over the gym. Start of the framing and some T-111 on the front wall. Rear wall is going to have an access door just in case. The ceiling to the gym is a drop ceiling...but you never know.

This is the nearly completed T&G on the outside wall. Man, this stuff looks good. picture isn't doing it any justice.

Don't mind the party decorations...they're from my 40th b'day party. :bounce:... Six years ago. :(

Here are some pics showing the progress.

The first is the enclosed area above the gym... had some leftover T-111 already painted, so up it went.

The second is the back wall of the storage area at the back of the gym with the T&G. Just need to trim it out.

This is the ridge vent (from the inside) showing how it was finished off with a
1x8 and 1x3 for the sides.

The close up shows the vent for the cupola.

This series shows the furring strips on the outside wall 2x12. The end of the bolts were cut off to allow a 1x12 to cover and finish the raw 2x12.

It shows the cut off bolt ends and then the finished look... Money shot?

These next two shots are of the finished portion of the back wall and a close up of the breaker panel, framed...nicely.

I'm pleased with the way things are shaping up and would encourage any feedback.

The T&G is only 1/4" thick, so the drywall is for support between the purlins. Plus it gives some sound deadening, too.

Thanks, Richtersrodz. It's a 30x40x10H. The "porch" is 8x12.

1/4" thick is actually pretty thin. Is the T&G actually flooring, or is is actually siding? Whatever it is, it really looks great in there

If you don't mind telling, how much does it cost to do a wall? Does the siding come in random lengths like flooring or all a standard length? And are you glueing the pieces up? I guess 1/4" thick just seems pretty thin for a T&G material. :headscrat

It's EverTrue 8'H Stain Grade Knotty Pine V-Groove Plank Paneling.

It's approx $16.00 a package of 6 pieces and cover 14sq ft. The section of wall between the 4 X 6s is just over 7 ft wide and 10 ft tall, so roughly 70 sq ft. That's about $80.00 for each section.

Using liquid nails to glue it to the drywall. Oh, and it's 5/16" thick.
Of course, pics included!!

Very nice! Thats the type of wood I used to cover the office in my garage. I really like it also. I put one coat of poly on it to help keep it clean. Great job on your garage.

Thanks, JC23.
I'm gonna put some sort of an oil finish on it but haven't figured out what, exactly, tho'. Something light because I like the way it looks now, I don't want to change that too much.

...and something that goes on easy, too. :)

These are pics of the left and right span of the 2x12 wall beam all finished.
The 4x6s are trimmed out to match the wall. The only thing left to do on this wall is to trim the outlets.

Not the best pic but this is of the outside wall, the one with the 4x6s at different heights, that is until now. Encased and all the same height.

The original picture was too big so I cropped it to what you guys see.
