Nice one, Jim! Here is a picture of Honza’s cabinet and Thorsen board. I was pleased to be able to help him out with filling them up. Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with. I doubt that you will need any help with ratchets.😉

What you know about the giant craftsman wrench above the cabinet??

If that's the woodworking cabinet, I gave $25 for mine a few years ago, but it's the only one I have seen that doesn't have the bottom drawers.

Many thanks for the “Likes” and other responses. I‘m still trying to figure out what I have and what I need to complete the set as advertised in the 1954 Craftsman tool catalog. Hey Don, believe it or not, I think I might need a 3/8” ratchet and the 3/8” extensions. I have them but they’re already dedicated to other complete sets. I definitely need the correct hack saw and the punch and chisel set. The cabinet also came with what looks to be the original lock……but no key. I was able to remove the lock but I can’t find any numbers on it indicating a key code. I’m hoping a locksmith can make me a key. I’ll post some updates as I find tools to complete the set.

Check out my Craftsman hacksaw here. If it works for your set, it can go very cheap.

I had a chance to buy one of those cabinets in great shape at an auction years ago. It only sold for $10 too. Still kicking myself...

Big thanks to d42jeep for recently hooking me up with the 3/8” ratchet, a couple 10” extensions, and the 1/4” drive tools and correct box. I’m still looking for the 8” screwdriver, both breaker bar cross handles and the hacksaw.

I think these are correct, or pretty close. The one I’m looking for will have an 8” shank. The letter “A” in the word Craftsman is pointed, and there is no model / part number on the handle.

Those may be a little later than the screwdrivers that would have come with your wall cabinet (if it matters to you). Great looking collection though. Thanks for posting it!

MAD,

I think you’re right. My guess is that they’re the next generation probably from the early to mid 1960s. I’m keeping an eye out for an earlier version of each, putting them closer to the early to mid 1950s…..I think.

BIG thanks to RTM for hooking me up with the vintage correct model of the hacksaw that came with this set of tools. He made me an offer that I couldn’t refuse. Again, many thanks for making it happen. I really hope I can return the favor in the future. I think all I’m really looking for now is a more vintage correct set of screwdrivers and a 3/8” breaker bar cross handle. The 1/2” cross handle is on its way here.

How do you identify the correct screwdrivers?
WF?
Pointed A?
Or??

That’s a good question. I’m not really sure. My guess would be pointed “A” and no part/model number on the handle. Maybe the shape of the handle is different than those that are currently in the cabinet.

I think any marked WF would be later since Western Forge was founded in 1965 and didn't make screwdrivers until after '66 or so.

A 1952 Craftsman catalog lists "amber handled screwdrivers" in the wall cabinet description. The same catalog also introduces the "Super-Tuff" screwdrivers which seem to be what was current for most of the years the wall cabinets were available.

The set is close to being completed! I’m only missing the 4” screwdriver and the 3/8” breaker bar cross handle.

Well, I’m almost there! I just need one screwdriver to complete this set. The screwdriver I’m looking for has a 4” long shank/shaft for slotted head screws. It has a clear plastic handle with red panels. One panel says CRAFTSMAN and the panel immediately below says Super-Tuff in script lettering. See the attached photos below. There’s no part/model number and no WF manufacturers mark.

Thanks JoCo. But I gotta say that I’m surprised to read you don’t have this box. I would have guessed that you’d have a few at least.
