Finally get my garage build. :)

After wanting a workshop forever. I finally get to start one. Fun fun. I will be doing this on a budget. Atleast trying. 24x36x10. Biggest I could fit. Carolina carports is building it. Location Florida. Went vertical roof, 12 gauge, and 180mph upgrades. Has 3 9x8 doors. Concrete permit took 2 days and building permit took 7 days. Carolina took 3 or 4 weeks for plans. Would have to look it up. Concrete got started today. I'm so excited.

Colors are a little off.

Waiting for the call to get my building installed. Just ordered insulation. WMP-VR-R Plus (PSP) faced insulation. $0.325 per sq/ft. Only 3in r10. But better the double bubble that the building company wanted to charge more for. Can't wait.

Carolina said talk to the installers about paying them direct on installing it during. That's my plan. I hope they will. If not. I will after. But I rather it be done during construction.

Collecting materials for the shop. Just ordered 20 LED lights from Sam's Club. The ones that are 10 pack special. Also picked up 40 sheets of OSB board that a company was getting rid of for $120 for the bundle. Now I just need the building up. LOL

I got a trailer full of insulation. And I just got the phone call that they're installing the building next Thursday and Friday. I'm so excited. But my guess is something will come up and we'll reschedule. Not uncommon for them. But either way I'm moving along.

My shop is under construction right now and 99% of the people I know have zero understanding of my excitement level.

Just can't explain it. And those who get it don't need to have it explained.

Supposed to start tomorrow morning. Haven't got a call on canceling but it's supposed to rain. Problem is it supposed to rain for the next 10 days. Good ol Florida weather. Lol

On my way to pick this up for the garage.

Yup it sure has been rainy lately. Hopefully they will show up an get it done over the next couple of days.

I got my Concrete permit on 5/9. Unfortunately I was on my way to Moab for 3 weeks. I’m now scrambling to get dirt work ready for slab....in the rain of course.

Slowly but surely. There's two guys doing the work. All the bad reviews about the company always rescheduling. I guess I'm very lucky that they made it out the first time they said.

Because of timing and the rain. We only agreed to do the roof. Which is the most important. They're charging me $300 labor. Which I think is a little high. But well worth it so I don't have to try to stick it to the roof. As long as it stays dry. Fingers crossed.

They have a location near you. If you don't mind driving a little. I ordered from them at really good prices. And when your building is being installed. Pay the installers to install the insulation at the same time.

I chose

WMP-VR-R Plus (PSP)
Tech Spec
Safety Data Sheet White or black finish. Low cost general purpose facing with a low .02 perm.

I paid $0.325 per foot. They cut each piece to size for me. I had 24 cuts. And they are in Orlando for pickup

Honestly the only reason I didn't go with closed-cell. Caralina said It would void the warranty. I'm out of town today and won't be home tomorrow. Just looked at my footage from my security cams. They just finished up now. Wasn't too worried. These guys measured so many times and make sure everything is just great. I will see it in person tomorrow. Can't wait.

Well. Excitement didn't last long. Got home to see my new shop, walked in the house and it was 91 degrees. A/c went. Oh well. But the shop is great. Installation crew was awesome. I would 100% buy again. Signed on April 4. Permits, concrete, and building done on June 2. Wall insulation and walls are next. Will update.
