Well wednesday is the day!! Been in the house for close to 8 years and im finally getting heat in the garage!! The hard part for me is done after i hand dug the 30 foot trench down 18 inches. Plumbers will be installing a 45k hot dawg in my 24x24x8. Venting out the side. Any recommendations or advice before the guys show up?? Ill update the final install pics in a few days. 9abfc4f46208302ab5499adfa81e6173.jpg2ab0c6616e17f7af9c2fe978fa8243b5.jpg7b3f8148a25b92d8f0b8a9a3a84f1299.jpg

That is a beautifully dug trench! What do you charge per foot?

Well since it took me a little over an hour. And the trenching company wanted 300 bucks to do 30 feet. I guess i charge 10 bucks a foot. Not saying id do it for a living!! Haha

I came to comment on the trench too [emoji23] !! Very cleanly done! If you've got that level of cleanliness & organization just digging in the dirt I have no doubt your heating project will be very well done.

That's the nicest looking trench I've ever seen!
They tend to look slightly less sophisticated when I dig them with a tractor!:spit:

No vacuum here! Just used a sod cutter to strip the sod cleanly. Used a spade to dig out the nice top soil. Then used a trenching shovel to clear out the clay. Used a wheel barrow to put the soils on a tarp on the patio. Im a bit of a grass nut since i work on a golf course, so i didnt want any extra soil or damage on the turf.

My plumbers doing the install i think are as meticulous and detail oriented as i am. We'll see in a few days.

Thanks for loving my trench!

I noticed the condition of your lawn and no wonder you wanted to keep the trench neat. I thought you might be involved in some kinda horticulture work or you have a very good landscaping company looking after your grass. Good luck with the install. Looking to do a similar install at about 200 feet very soon.

So in just under a weeks time, i tore up my sod, got a new gas line and heater installed. Today me and the wife back filled the trench and relayed the sod. Give it a week and you wont notice any ground disturbance. Im pleased with the work the plumbers did. They also ran me a natural gas hook up for the bbq. Im so pumped for heat in the garage!!!ca9786d6666da5b69bf3d9984dea5aab.jpga8b1dc43ce0a3c78ddae4b482a2101c2.jpg942c43ff4a37c49690f36aadbf11b7fa.jpg53cab3d116d719b6fc4fb4a378660222.jpgdcd5cba9ce5a1aedefe9ae9a57759430.jpg78208fd134494178aeb3e9a91f06b1b5.jpg

Very nice job!

Question....the Pipe comes thru and up the wall, to a T. What’s the other direction go to?
The t beside the fridge, the penetration through the wall is for bbq hookup. The line on the left in that picture is actually the supply coming from the house.
