I've waited a long time for this purchase. The tax return hit the bank last night so it was now or never. I'm one of those evil federal employees, :dunno:, looking at a 20% pay cut from furloughs and single dad with a teen daughter ($$$) going off the college in the fall ($$$). Money is only going to get tighter and tighter from here on out with constantly rising inflation for all of us. I ordered a Bendpak HD-9STX, RJ-45 and caster kit was ordered this morning from Brian at ASE. I shopped several distibutors and they gave me the best bang for the buck (basically got the caster kit for free). ETA is ten days so I hope to be assembling the beast two weekends out.

Teenagers are only expensive if you let them be expensive.

Congrats on the lift

There is a lot of truth in that. I've kept her in a private school the last five years because the local public schools are wacked despite a large number of caring teachers. Applications to colleges & universities/ACT & SAT tests/ homecoming &prom/advanced class fees/car (94 Accord) & related expenses/etc just add up pretty darn quick. She's a great kid (besides the typical teenager attitude) that stays out of trouble, holds a 4.25 GPA, tutors other students, plays volleyball/soccer and tries to earn her own spending money. You don't mind spending a little on a kid of that caliber.

Good luck with your HD9STX. I am going thru similar transition with college bound kids along with purchase of HD9ST with RJ45. The lift has allowed me to do things my age would no longer allow me to do working on the ground. You won't be sorry. Money well spent. Enjoy!
