After far too long searching, I finally found a worthy jack at a price that fits the budget. Believe it is a Walker 93657, but someone (Hiball) will likely be along to confirm or deny this.

Couldn't turn down the $40 price tag, even though it wouldn't lift, although pumping the handle does distribute really clean hydraulic fluid to the ground in rapid fashion from multiple locations. Leaves me to believe this sticker doesn't mean as much as it should.

5 minutes of pressure washing, an overnight dry, and a little over 30 minutes of wrenching with very little PB Blaster and even less expletives (the stupid set screws on the rear wheels were the most annoying piece to remove, surprisingly), I had the entire apparatus disassembled.

Definitely leaking badly from from the packing nut side and a little from at least two of the plugs covering the valves. I wonder where I can get a rebuild kit from (Hiball). Yes, I will be sending him a PM.

One question. How do you get the lifting cap (Part 61 below) separated from the Cap Housing (62)? The Lifting Cap Pin (63) was obviously and deliberately mushroomed during original manufacture.

I really want to separate these parts as it would be a shame to have the jack completely broken down and not do a complete cleaning, blasting and repaint.

Awesome! I have always wanted to do a jack rebuild, but have not found one.

I am still trying to find a darned drill press motor for a resto started 3 months or so ago....

Wish you were closer. I've done three drill press restorations, and am currently working on a 1908 Pratt one. I have a crate with seven drill press motors in it that I picked up dirt cheap to make sure I'd have a good one for each of the ones I restored.

Nice pickup on the Walker floor jack since it's a 4 ton.

Looking forward to the rebuild of that one. Keep pics coming!

I'm getting addicted to your guys restore pics. Since I haven't found a worthy jack to do in my area, I'm living vicariously through your guys projects.

The information on this site is terrific. I bought, actually accidentally on an auction, the identical Walker jack as you are rebuilding. If you could answer a few questions it would be helpful. I too need to rebuild it as fluid leaks heavily from the larger of the two pump pistons.

1. Where is the model or serial located, I haven't found it yet?
2. I noticed in one of your posts a pictorial of the jack taken apart. Where can I find that? I'd like to disassemble and restore it as you are.
3. What company stocks the packing glands or a rebuild kit?
4. I haven't studied the systems of the 4 ton Walker but is it a two stage pump?
