After moving all over God's green earth I finally rented myself a workshop. It's in a very relaxed storage place that is still secure and is kept up for the most part (not pretty but no leaks). It's a 10x20 unit with 2 garage doors connected to a 10x10 unit with 1 garage door. I am using the 10x10 for household goods and turning the 10x20 into a workshop for my scooters and my side work. It's hardly grand or anywhere as nice as you guys shops but while we are living the apartment life. I am just getting started need to add shelving, toolbox, workbench for my vice and grinder, outlets and a parts washer. Right now I just have my junk piled up in the unit. Later today I will start organizing the unit and maybe pick up some HF shelving units.

At least after moving all over you ended up in Austin. I can think of worse places to be. Nice to have garage space.

Love the Vespas (and the Bajaj). I've got a couple Vespas and a Lammy myself, although none run or, for that matter, are actually all together. "Long term" projects. Nice to see some scooters on GJ, though.

Are you on MV? All 3 of my scoots are Bajaj's, traded a GTS250 for them. Yeah us scooter guys are a rare breed, especially those of us that work on them ourselves.

I've lurked a bit on Modern Vespa, but haven't really been online for scooters much lately. The old International Scooter BBS died off, which was really too bad, and then Scoot.net stopped being updated, at least for rally pics. I'm on scootrally.com and paisans.org mostly now. Also, the Lambretta Club USA has a good forum. I'll have to check out MV more.

One of my Vespas, an Allstate, came with an incorrect engine. Turns out it's a 3-speed Bajaj of some kind, and I've even got a Bajaj Prya headset. Fun scoots, for sure. Small world.

I've got your thread subscribed to. There are a couple of other scooter-related threads on GJ, too.

Nice to have a place to yourself...

Be careful of having solvents / fuel around rental units. Most have rules forbidding storage of those things.

Thanks guys. As far as rules our storage place has only one, don't do anything retarded. So as long as I keep my chemicals sealed, rags stored in a airy place and have a large fire extinguisher handy I won't draw attention to myself. I have a purchased a large Mac toolbox from a coworker that I will be adding to the shop. Ordered a Blue Point battery charger and 1/2in cordless impact from m Snappy man, he threw in a couple banners for my shop as well. Still searching for a workbench also need to buy a couple shelving units, a grinder stand, motorcycle jack, floor jack and parts washer.

Here is the latest pictures I have taken. The orange Bajaj is up and running great. The blue one I've started the tear down on and trying to bring it back to life. Hopefully next weekend I am picking up a Genuine Stella with sidecar to add to the stable.
