Finally Got My New Box Setup *lots of pics*

Now if I can just get the rest of the garage organized. I'm still looking for some wrench organizers and some way to keep my screwdrivers in line!

Most of my stuff is Craftsman with a little Gearwrench, Stanley and Lisle mixed in plus a few HF and Northern Tool items...

How do you like those AC quick disconnect sets you have? I need to find a good set.

The disconnects work pretty well! I prefer the multicolored ones. They are made by Lisle.

Are those raftsman nut drivers? I see they have black shafts and it looks like both metric and SAE have clear handles?

The nut drivers are made by Stanley. Both MM and SAE are present. They seem to be identical in construction to the Craftsman, Husky, etc... Only differing by the clear handles and black shafts. A few of my friends have made that same comment about them - they have the CMs.

Nice setup, but I would switch your impacts with your chrome sockets. Reaching down to the bottom for my most used tools would get annoying. Unless you do everything with air tools, then in that case leave it be!

I agree. It looks like your wide drawer is just wide enough to fit the trays in there side-by-side and get all the chrome in one drawer. I too like to have things like that higher in the box. The other reason is as I get older, I need things a little closer so I can read them. Ha.

Nice setup. I can't find anything to complain about.

Thanks for the input guys! I tried to fit all the chrome sockets in the large drawer, but the drawer is about an inch shy from fitting them. I was sure the trays were going to fit when I bought the cabinet, but I must have counted 1 too few inches somewhere . I've also thought about putting them in the topmost part of the chest. It is kind of a pain reaching down there sometimes!

I love it so far. I have had it for about a month so far and it's much better than my previous boxes. I upgraded from 3 basic Craftsman boxes I had for about 7 years. It is much sturdier than the boxes I saw at Sears when I was wanting to upgrade. Better quality for just about the same price. I didn't know Napa sold them as well, I picked mine up at Northern Tool. I liked the HF boxes, but they are always out of stock at the store near me.

I'm young right now, so it's not too bad. Inconvenient at most. I figure I will probably upgrade in a few years when I get older.

Nice looking setup.

How do you like the Homak boxes ? My local NT has them on sale and I could probably fit their 37" version in a spot in the shop.

I've taken a cursory look at their floor models about two months ago, but really didn't give them a "might buy one" type of inspection.

My initial impression is they are pretty good quality, but the full price on them was making me **** hurt, so I passed on them.

Now, the 37" version is on sale with the cab and top for $599. It wouldn't be a heavy use box, just holding spare/backup hammers, picks, needle files, crimp terminals, heat shrink and infrequently used bit sets etc..
