I can't remember if I posted pictures of the workbench I built, but here it is after getting my vise and woodworkers vise installed. I know, the bench is a wreck! I have a lot of organizing going on.

Nice bench!
Consider mounting (recessing) that right side vise so the pad is flush with the side of the benchtop. It makes clamping longer pieces (doors, rails, etc) a lot easier.

I did think about doing that Corruptor, but I've been without vises for so long, I just had to get it on and use it. Maybe later.

Paul sellers had a comment about that in one of his videos. Someone had asked why his vise was actually spaced away from the table a bit. He explained that the extra bit of space let's you get your hand around longer stock and makes it easier to hold.

Nice bench!

Did you joint all the boards?

What kind of connectors?

Bill

I did not have a jointer at the time. I just ripped 2x6's for the top, glued and clamped them together, then ran manageable widths through the planer. I then glued all those (3 or 4) sections together. It sat outside for a couple of months under a tarp, and I believe the glue on the top just got too much temperature extremes/moisture extremes. That's all I can figure as to why the top separated along one seam. I used Titebond Ultimate. I believe that's what it's called. It is supposed to be water proof, so I'm really not sure. For the frame, I ripped 2x6's down to an even 4 inches and glued them together. Connections on the base or frame were made with the same glue, and 5/8" dowels. It's sturdy as heck, but I do have to fix the surface soon. I have not flattened it yet, and do not know if I will anytime soon. I'm just happy to have a real workbench after all the makeshift things I've used in the past. It's only so junky now because I'm organizing some tools sets for my boys.
