Nice job. I miss my 95 Caprice 9C1 LT1. It was a VA state troopers car. It had no spot light on it. I was told it was a Captians car. Did have all the other good stuff under the hood. It was a fun car. Nothing like wearing mirrored sunglasses and geting the flattop sharpened up.:bounce:

That's a nice build that I've been watching. I have a 1987 Caprice wagon that I have been slowly working on,

It's a 9 passenger Estate and loaded with power windows, locks, seat antennea, air, cassette, ect. It has the Olds 307 in it.

Any good places to find body and trim parts for these cars? I imagine there has to be some good forums too. The salvage yards by me rarely have any of the full size cars from this era these days. Took me over a year to locate a replacement rear bumper and I have gotten some replacement interior trim off Ebay.

well bad as I hate to say it, the junkyards should be piling up fast with the cash for clunker trade ins, so just keep an eye out and keep a look on ebay.

I thought the same thing, however, part of the cash for clunkers legislation mandates that the cars be destroyed to the point that parts can no longer be used.

It doesn't sound "green" to me. It sounds "brown".

The engine has to be destroyed, but then the salvage yards still have 180 days to sell parts off the car before it's crushed.

So, do you guys "collect" Caprices, or just feel they are a good car for your use? My Dad used to get these as company cars and I learned to drive in one. Always liked how they handled - soft, yet firm.

Looks good. All you need now are some ported heads, cam, headers, etc, etc, until you spin a bearing and start fresh. Not that I would know anything about that.... :)
