Hello. My name is Rick, aka 'Greasy Fingers' and I have an addiction to tools and projects. This addiction has put a serious strain on my life and finances. BUT I LOVE IT! And I'm not giving it up! No one likes a quitter. So the strain comes from not having a garage. In the past I've had a concrete pad, a large deck, nothing, and recently a 2 car carport. I have tools in a small storage closet, in a trailer, a storage unit, and even stashed in any available spot in the house. Well thats all about to change.

About 2 weeks back my fiancée and I bought a new house with a few acres. It was built in 78, looks like it was last updated in the early 90's, so it needs quite a bit of work, which is ok, it satisfies my project needs. We wanted a place to remodel the way we want it. And the best part, it has a 24'x24' attached 2 car garage... and a 35'x45' cinder block shop! Unfortunately the shop only has 8' ceilings and 2 small garage doors. I have a large truck and was wanting a lift. Im sure I will figure something out when the time comes.

Given the fact threads are worthless without pics, here's a shot of the shop. It needs some paint and a new roof but redeems its self for having a bathroom, wired with 220, has gas ran from the house, and 8 96" 12's fixtures.I know 12's aren't great, but the wiring is there and its good light till I upgrade.

A little background on me; I originate from AZ, grew up doing construction, did 7 years in the Army, got stuck here in the dirty south( Alabama), I'm now an entry level machinist doing production but looking to get into a job shop. I've been creaping around this sight for a long while. Most of my posts to come will be in regards to the house. Ive got to get that straight and moved in before I can get to the shop.

I believe I've covered all the stuff fellow internet creapers want to know. So on that note I'd like to make a suggestion to the mods. How about a automotive/toy sub-forum? Many of us have toys with big motors we work on in the garage. Its part of the circle of life in this life style. Garage, tools, toys...
