I have been "sucked into" this Site just like everyone else...
...and I love it.
I live outside the Chicagoland area but the Fox River.
I bought my house about 19 years ago, and was frustrated with the small 1 1/2 car garage that was at the end of the driveway, facing south. So you had to drive past the house and turn right into the small garage.
A buddy who owned his own construction company helped me with that problem...we removed a wood shed (found an old wooded Snap-on creeper with an adjustable head rest in there), some large bushes, boulders and broken tiles. Except for the Concrete work, we built a new 3 1/2 car garage with a loft. it is 30' wide by 23' deep. the loft area kicks out an extra 3 feet over the front.
I got some great ideas from this great site...including someday building the loft into an office where i can do more drawing...which is a fun past time for me.
I am going to try and load some pictures of a few drawings so that everyone can see them...I have a huge influence from "Rat Fink" and Dave "Big" Deal...who unfortunatly passed recently. His work will be missed.
Keep the great photos and ideas and build coming.....

I live in Geneva. Love it here. I am out in Plainfield alot due to my work, great area to cruise with your '55...Is that a wagon?
We restored a '55 Beauville 4 door wagon for my nephew a few years back.
'74 350, muncie 4 speed, 373 rear, iroc electric buckets, custom interior, '73 corvette rims. painted it VW silver and gunmetal 2 tone.
Love the ride and looks that it gets....Your's looks "Tight"!!!
Cruise out this summer and throw a line in the fox. Ken

I still have a "bunch" of the CARtoon Mags....Still love them.
Years ago, after the original one stopped...I started drawing my own.
I have artwork all stashed away, enough for an issue if I thought that it would pan out.
I'm not sure if there are many goofballs like myself that would still buy them.

They were great thou! and Thanks for the compliment!

Um Yeah. That 1911 Indian boardtracker is worth more than my life. I saw it at the motorcycle museum in Sturgis South Dakota. Well .... It was more like a house than a museum. Excellent looking bikes in there. Great A/C.

My uncle had a COOL Indian motorcycle when I was a kid.
Loved that bike...Loved my Uncle...He passed at the young age of 21 of cancer
Bike went to his best friend.
One of my favorite photos of my uncle is, him and his bike in a Chicago Alley (1966)
Side Tank Shifter, no fenders, clear fuel lines, straight bars, single seat on shocks and straight pipes...Man oh Man...and drove it all over Chicago!!!
Love those Ol' Indians.

Yep, been to the Westchester one a few times since I grew up there! I try to hit the bigger car shows like the Hooters Cups which go from Aurora, Joliet, Orland Park and Downers. Actually there is the 1st on on May 17th at the Joliet Hooters. We also try to go to the Morris car show once a summer(2nd Saturday of the month June-Sept). Probably also go to a couple of church shows, Brookfield and Riverside as well. Attached a picture I had done of my car, but your pictures are really nice as well. Would love to have you draw a cartoonish one of mine!!!

Brian

Hey Brian, I'll have to look for your car at the DG show and introduce myself. What's funny is your GS was brand new the year I got my license. :wtf:

I grew up in Westchester also, went to High Ridge school before it became some other name. Hung out at Henry's racing with my buddy's down 22nd street toward Oakbrook (before it was called Arby's).
Hows this? Not a convert', but in the ballpark! Ken

Yep, I went to Nixon school before they changed all the school names!! Then I went to the Westchester Elementary(old High Ridge) and Middle Schools(old Nixon). That picture is pretty cool, anyway you could get me a copy of it? Make some stickers of it and I am sure I could sell it on my other newsgroup I frequent for Buicks!!

Brian, I will see if I can have them made into stickers, the Illustrations are about 12x12 on large heavy bright white stock. I was selling them on Ebay, but stopped about a year ago when my wife went through some health issues.
So did you go to Proviso West?
I am looking for a guy that used to live in Bloomingdale, he had a low mileage Black Buick
v-6 turbo that I used some diecast model boxes of his for design ideas, but I lost touch and he always wanted these boxes back...he may be part of a Buick club.
Here is the Illustration from that...

I could probably even get guys to buy them if they were on 12X12 white stock. Shoot me a PM with all the info on this pics and the guys name you need to find and I might be able to help you. My friend has a 87 Grand National GNX, so that picture is good as well since that is just a basic Grand National. By the way I did go to Proviso West!!!!

My home is in Texas but I am working about 90 miles north east of Chicago up here in Michigan. I really liked the drawing of the '57 Chevy. When you get a chance post up some pics of that garage you built.:)

V8Garage, Thanks! I'll try and get some picks of my Garage on here soon, and it sounds like your working quite a ways from Home. Welcome to the Midwest...Good food out here at least. I have a friend coming in from Texas tomorrow. She grew up here, but moved to Austin 4 years ago.

Brian, I'll get some of that info for ya, The Stock is 17x21. Plenty large enough for cutting down to whatever frame size needed.
Also, what year did you graduate from West
I did alot of extra credit art, doing Cars and Illustration for the Auto shop teacher "Mr. Borvanski".
