Long time coming to install a 4 post lift.
After many estimates and reference checks, I found a good contractor.
It took a week to remove all the junk from the rafters after 20 years. I had good car parts that I had forgotten about and a lot of junk.
Contractor came in and reinforced the existing ceiling, then cut out an opening 24' x 9'. He installed a 10" x 2" board 24 foot long. Then reinforced rafters at top and sides. Installed insulation, sheet rock, taped, mudded and sanded joints. Primed and painted opening. Install two 4 foot doors to gain access for storage.
I'll primer and paint 9' ceiling and walls and hang 21 foot shop lights. Install lift, then hang 20 year collection of antique car signs and pictures. Really looking forward to getting it finished.
There is a second post with additional pictures. Same title as above

A 10 foot by 6 inch 24 foot long board? I looked at the pics and am missing something. Is the opening 24' long and 10' wide using a 2" x 6" board? Not poking fun as I know it is a mistype, but just wondering the size that you made the opening.
