Been working with my plywood top for a while now. No problems with it... works just fine :) But my cousin had some spare stainless steel laying around and bent it up for me.

Got it down with loads of pl 400. I haven't secured my vice yet. Still sorting out where I want it. My framing was a bit wonky so I've got a gap in one spot near the wall, but I figure I'll put up a strip of pegboard along the top the length of the workbench from beneath the window sill to just above the workbench.
All that's left now is a heater, a shelf for my amp, a vent and something for my tires.
The vent... I sealed up my garage so tight that the moisture has nowhere to go. Over the winter, the snow would come in, melt and hang around.
My tools would get all rusty, a small spot on my door bloomed
I've heard of a thing called a vizzvent. Anyone have any experience with it? I've got a programmable thermostat that can control a humidifier. Hopefully I can sort that out.

For the tires, I want four on each side but I'd like them flat against the wall. Any ideas?

yup,
Just a bunch of PL400. But I'll eventually bolt down the vice when I decide where I want it.
Its actually cut up into three pieces. My cousin did a fantastic job bending it and each piece lines up perfect. Unfortunately my wall isn't as true as the metal. But its really not bad, and won't be seen once I put that strip of pegboard up.

Spare stainless, bent up for me = big you ****. Extra nice! Yep - no wall will be as true as metal, or even a counter top. You should see the caulk line behind our master bath counter top. I stuck my hard board top down with daubs of RTV, knowing that I would probably replace it at some time. I have a bench with a galvanized top - same thing there. RTV and a couple of cylinder heads, pretty soon it's stuck good.

My dad did the same thing with galvanized steel. Still works great 25 years later. Don't know why more people don't go that route.

I also have a stainless bench top for about 8 years now, doesn't look quite as good as yours now though. Its been great. It wipes up easy when you spill things.
