I've wanted a shop for over twenty years. I finally was able to get the wife to agree, and the budget to agree, provided I kept it simple. I would have loved a stick built 50x80, finished out nicely, heated and cooled, with lifts and climate control, tile floors... but a check of the bank account proved that once again Powerball had let me down.
So I managed to scrape together a very low budget, got a slab poured, and ordered a metal building. Not a Garage Mahal, but it'll do nicely for a country boy like me used to dirt. A 24x30.. It's took twenty weeks to get here, and I still have to insulate and wire it, but as of today, it looks good anyway.new shop.jpgnew shop truck.jpg
The old trucks look right at home.... Can't wait to get on the interior and finish it out.

Hi fellow country boy. Nice trucks. Definitely a nice garage as well. I sure do want to build my own garage as well if I do make one it will probably have to be my carport turned into one because there is no room on my property to add anything else with all my cars and stuff haha. I put some cinder blocks around my carport but I still freeze my tail off in the winter. I want to have somewhere to work on my classic beetle during my free time. You know we gotta see more pictures as you progress of the garage, the trucks and most importantly the tools 🙂.

Sell me that truck in the right hand bay and put the money towards finishing your shop….
LOL. Sorry my friend, but if you were heir to the Rockefeller fortune, you wouldn't have enough to buy either of those trucks. They have way too many memories and good times ******* in them, and if they are ever sold, it'll be after I'm gone from this life.

Now comes the best part, you have your own garage and the opportunity to make it all your own. looks nice so far.
start a thread on the build in the garage gallery section. looking forward to seeing your progress.

here is a link to my build https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/kevkx125s-garage-in-progress.411435/

I wondered where to do a build thread...may try to post one up when I get a bit of time.
I appreciate the welcome from everyone. Look forward to ideas I've seen here and making the building my own.
