This adventure started in July, but, thanks to some zoning issues and other delays, my new garage is finally being built. Or should I say just about done :) I was thinking of building it myself, but, my wife talked me out of it. She told me, "If you build it, it will take awhile", with that wife kinda look ..if your married, you know what I mean.

Anyway, it's a 30'x32' pole barn. The garage will basically house my on going VW project, as well as a CNC mill in the future.

Here are some pictures.....

This is what welcomed the builder, when they arrived....

They removed the rest of the pad, did the grading and drilled the post holes..

Nice. I am just finishing up a build myself. The fun part is finishing off the interior and finalizing the layout. Enjoy!

Can you post some close up pictures of the flashing details.....where the gable intersects the top of the wall(the horizontal strip)...over the garage door and people door?

Beautiful building:drool:

After day 2, I installed the vapor barrier and #4 rebar (20" centers). This took me a couple nights of work. Yesterday, the concrete guys arrived. they were done by the end of the day....

Here are some pic's of the concrete work...the concrete is 4" of fiber-mesh..I wanted to go 5", but, my funds just ran out :(

I'm doing the electrical myself. I had to trench out about 15 feet to the house and laid in an extra run of 1 1/2" conduit, for future considerations.

Here are the LB's on the house..

I left a section of the trench open for the inspector, amazing how much **** gets in over a couple days...

and finally, my square d QO panel...temporarily in it's place..

I'm more than happy with the building. The builder, Shirk Pole buildings, did a wonderfull job. My biggest thanks go to the guys who worked on the project.....the carpenters...Vern and his partner, the concrete crew of Merle and Tim (Auker Concrete Service, in Newmanstown, PA)

Now it's up to me to finish this thing... more to come

Thanks for the detail shots. I'm putting on metal roofing and thinking about the siding as well. That really helped.

Very nice looking building. Detail work looks top notch. Much better than we can get around here. All the local contractors hire illegals and it shows in the details.

Nice garage, do you have pictures from the roof taken from the inside (roof-construction)? :)

Well it's been awhile, but, I have finally started to work on the interior of this garage. I have put up studs and have started the wiring. I also installed some of my air line system.

At work last week, I replaced the outlet strips in the server racks. They have added more servers and needed more outlets. Guess who got the old strips????

DSCN3564.jpg

Each strip has 12, 20 amp outlets. They let me have 6 strips :)

Here's the electrical panel, still have more to do....

The orange air line goes back into the house. It's going through one of the additional 1 1/2" pvc pipes I had buried, when i started the garage build. It supplies 30 lbs of air for my sons air brush setup in the basement.

My air compressor...

Some of the plumbing, I'm using 3/4" black iron....

I have also run an ethernet line into the garage. I use my laptop as a radio.

Here's my other project...

Nice Oval project! The engine looks really nice, and I haven't seen too many using the DTM fan shrowd.

Your avatar says "sync link" and looks like a VW engine - is this a carb linkage or synchronization tool that you have developed? I've never heard of it before.

I see that you're from the Philly area - have you ever made it down to Maryland for the Slowriders Slam? Last year I finally made it to the Campbelltown show and had a great time, but so far there's no word on if that show is happening at all this year.

Thanks for the good words. SyncLink is the throttle system I developed.
