Hello all!

After years of sharing a garage at my parents house, Ive finally gotten my own home. We should close at the end of the month if all goes well. Anyway here is a pic of my 2 car detatched Chicago garage. I do not have an inside pic, but it is nothing special...yet. Finally my mustang and tools will have a permanent home.

Thanks for viewing!

Congrats on your own garage. Run some electric, insulate it, heat it, and organize your tools and you'll have a great place to tinker!

Congratulations on your purchase. I was just as excited when I got my first home/garage. Savour every minute of it and pace yourself financially, because hanging out at the GJ can be a lot of pressure on the ol' wallet strings! Looking fwd to seeing the interior and what you do with it. G/L.

Congratulations on the home buy. It will be a great place to make your own. We will be watching for an inside photo and your plans to remodel.

Thanks guys for all the kind words!

I am actually more excited for the garage than anything else. As far as the inside goes, it already has some foamboard on the inside walls from when it was built in the 80's. The house is from 1955. My plans are to insulate better, add a few more outlets and build a decent workbench. The previous owner installed some really nice flourescent lamps in the ceiling and it really lit it up pretty good during the day. It has a newer opener and door. There are some shelves already on the walls but I was planning on finishing the walls and re insulating, so I will probably take them down. They arent the sturdiest either... I will post more pictures as soon as we move in.

Thanks again!

Congrats! I'm in the works on closing on my place as well and am researching on here to get some ideas planned out. My first mission is the floor and then the walls/ceiling.

Good luck!

Hi Guys,

Sorry its been a few months since an update. The house in the first post fell thru. Sellers decided they were too sentimentally attached to it. Anyway, we finally closed on a home and here is the awesome SOLID BRICK garage. Since we just moved in, I haven't had a chance to set it up exactly how I want it but here are a couple pictures.

And here is the surprise that was waiting for me:

Unfortunately, it was sold at the estate sale before we closed. 1978 Buick Le Sabre. 9,400 miles. Still had original tires and new car smell.
