Hello all,

after months of lurking in the forums and endless lusting for all the great garages on here I got myself my own wrenching space in a large hall full of other gearheads
I'm going to share the space with a buddy so all the costs will be only 50% ;)
Unfortunately the space is in rather bad condition so we are going to polish it up a little before actually moving in with our tools.
So this gives you the ultimate opportunity to witness everything from the start :)
And it's time for the first pic already, it shows the space in it's original state:

So I started with cleaning the walls and removing all the green stuff:

As next step the windows and the door will get shut and there is going to be some fresh paint

I'd like to see some pictures from the outside. Was this an old factory, or auto garage? Interesting industrial look to it. Looking forward to seeing what you do with this.

This is the actual spot where the work will get done,so it's inside the hall.
It used to be an old factory, you can see some steel plates in the floor where some big machines used to stand on.
Next time I'll try to get a better pic that shows the dimensions of the hall so you can imagine what it looks like.

Wow great feedback so far, more than I expected!
So here's the view when entering the building:

And today I removed the heating pipes and covered the windows with plywood.
As you can see I also put the soon-to-be workbench in it's position:

Tomorrow it's time for a fresh coat of paint and setting up the second workbench :bounce:

Thanks for the comments! The cars you see aren't ours, as I said there are other gearheads in the building as well. Our place will get filled with my Volvo and my buddies beetle. But before that there's alot of work to do :eyecrazy:
So today it was time for some fresh paint. Unfortunately the pic looks better than th real world, so we'll need to do a second layer of paint. As you can see we also built the frame for the second workbench :)

I used to share an old warehouse with 9 other guys until the building was sold. Keep the pics coming. Looks like it will be a great place to work. Of course I spent as much time hanging out as I did working at the place I rented.

Yes of course hanging out and chatting is 50% of the time
There are plans for a chill room with a bar as well. But first the workplace has to get finished ;)
Unfortunately our tool collection is rather small at the moment. But we're looking to expand with time. Hazet and Gedore are not cheap

So it's time for the next pic, yesterday we did another painting:

On the right there will be a wall sometime, so that will get painted as well. Also we're currently thinking about doing an epoxy floor coating.

Today we're gonna do the second one and install some lights and electricity. Also we're going to have a look at a lift

Cool build! Can you tell us anything about the building's history, how old it is, or what it was used for? If you can't tell, we like old building around these parts;)

I don't know much about the building, it's quite old though, and was used for wood and metal fabricating, like forging and milling.
There used to stand some heavy machines where our wrenching spot is now, maybe you can see the steel anchors which are still in the floor.

So today I finished the electrics, now it's time for a lift

Nice place! I like the industrial look and feel - not hard as it was a factory. I also see the Kafer is snug and sleeping soundly under the tarp. Do the yellow lines represent the end of your space?

No the workbenches are actually made from the inventor of the idea: www.item24.de :)

So finally there's an update!

We built a wall that separates our space from the paint booth and of course it was painted as well.

Also we got ourselves a lift :rocker:
We currently are doing some maintenance on it and hope to be able to set it up soon!
