Harbor Freight is a four letter word in my vocabulary. Our shop has three vintage floor jacks ranging in age from 45-65 years of age, all are in need of rebuilds, which I swear I'll some day get to. Plus the Allied/Alltrade/whatever thats actually been invaluable for things like supporting motors for thousands of timing belt jobs. In the meantime, I needed something with a reasonably high lift, at least 3 ton capacity, and something that's pro quality. I'm embarrassed to say how many hours I spent reading about this subject. I went out of my way to avoid anything Chinese, however learned that Norco badges some pretty decent quality stuff, and they won't just slap they're name on junk. Anyways...I finally settled on a Zinko ZSJ-30H. It's made in Japan (not just spray painted there), has a 3 metric ton capacity/long chassis design (6600lbs) and a 24" lift. The jack is actually made by Masada, "Zinko" out of Southern California imports and badges them. Operation of lift and mechanism is butter smooth, nice steel wheels, adjustable handle, and grease zerks on crucial points like wheels/saddle, etc. Price was very reasonable @ $413, shipping hurt a little. All told I'm into it for $610. If you want a nice Jack, but a Milwaukee or US Jack is out of your price range, I would highly recommend it. BTW, prior to buying I looked into repair/service parts and confirmed seal kits are readily available, not that you'll probably need them.-Bill
