I had to build some kind of wall to hold all that sand inside, so I built a wall using cinder blocks under all the walls and I had a left over block from making the footings.

It took me 2 weeks but I got it all moved. Since we sold our house the shop will be used to store all the household stuff until the house is built. All I can say is I don't ever want to do that again, if I "have" to move, I'm paying someone!

Congrats on selling the house! Hope you can get the shop set up soon. Don't let the wifey "borrow" it for storage for too long.

Once the house in done ALL of the house stuff is going in the HOUSE.... No exceptions and she understands that.

I don't know about being politically correct but it sure is cheaper than our last electric company.

Not much to report lately. The guys came by and drilled the well, had to go down 222 ft. but supposed to get about 12 GPM out of it. The water is cold and clear, guess that's all I can ask for. I now get to build me a well house :D

Had to flatten the area out a little then put up a form,

Next week I will grab some rebar and concrete and get that done so I can build the following weekend :bounce:

Guess that means next week I should have more to report.

Last week I got the concrete pad done for the well house, only took 30, 80lb bags of concrete. All mixed by hand

Even had a little left over to pour around the faucet :D

This week I started on the walls for the well house, my wife thinks I'm going a little over board. I call it planning ahead.

But I have it all framed and siding is on except for the roof, guess I better go buy the stuff this week.

Well til next weekend, cause I'm taking the day off tomorrow.

While I was waiting on the siding for the roof of the well house, I went to work on making 1 of the 3 work benches I will be needing.

Got a few free cabinets

Made a two tier set up, this work bench is for my reloading equipment

Only got one of the two tops completed but I will finish the second one later this week.

Had to put some cheap peel n stick tiles down for easy clean up's. ;)

Got the reloading bench built and started to get things put away. It will probably change once I get all my stuff unpacked but until then this will have to do.

Also I was able to finally find a place (door into the shop) to post my sign that my wife shouldn't complaint about too much

Finally got the metal in for the well house. Since this is my first time installing metal siding, I hope I keep all my fingers and toes :scared:

Using the same colors as the shop

Going to try and finish it up tomorrow, then I need to grab some insulation and put it in to keep the thing from freezing :D

I love the bike, I bought it new in 2004, I would go buy a new one but they have lost all color. They just blend in with the others now.

I like vehicles that have some color and kind of stand out, that's why I bought it in the first place.

What is the normal low temp there in the dead of winter? You may need a small heater in the well house to keep the water from freezing. Great looking projects. What ammo do you reload? Have a Blessed Day.

Welder57, there is no "NORMAL" temps in Oklahoma. I have lived here for 10 years and not one year has been the same for temps.

I have to go and get some insulation for the well house and I will pick up a small heater with a thermostat so I can keep the place above freezing. I reload 9mm and 380, currently. My next project is to build a platform in one of the gulley's and set up a target practice area.

CodeRedZ, thanks for the kind words, it's going to take some time to get the place operational and since I have more time than money, that shouldn't be a problem.

Haven't done much to the shop lately. It's been kind of nice in the evenings so I got the press up and running and added a few lights to make it easier to see things

Without the light

With the light

But since the weekend was so nice I went to the store and picked up an in-wall electric heater and thermostat for the well house

Almost got it done, just a few more pieces to put up and the well house will be ready for winter.

Got a call today about a dozer and some dirt work, got over to the property and found JE at work on his dozer

While JE was riding around I finished up the insulation in the well house, came out and he was this far

Caught a gopher and made up a few rounds of ammo and JE was done for the day

He said he was coming back tomorrow to get more done and start on the footings.

Might actually get the house installed before the end of the year

Had to do a little side project for the wife, plus it gets the thing out of my shop :)

Got all the final touches done in the well house, now I can close the door and hope to not go in there very often

Getting a little more site prep done for the house, supposed to be here before Thanksgiving, guess we will see :rolleyes2

I got bored waiting for the house to be completed and set up, so I started on a storage area in the shop

I didn't get very far on the first day, but hey at least it keeps me out of trouble

Problem is, I usually am working by myself and recently have developed a really bad case of tennis elbow

And this new form of torture is somewhat fun when you need to lift 2x10x16's by yourself :willy_nil

Day 2 brought more of the same fun and excruciating pain as Day 1 :yikes:

But at least the heavy lifting is done for now :Freak:

So the only thing left is the rest of the floor joists, decking, stairs, railings ....
:see:

That's kind of the reason for the storage area. I have to get some of the **** off the floor so I can get to my other projects :3gears:

I'll go over and work a little each day this week or until I run out of lumber or I just can't use the arm, then the fun starts. The next trip for lumber will be the rest of the 2x8x10 & the 3/4" CDX T&G for the decking, I know I can't lift the plywood myself :headscrat

Well after a night of ice, pain relievers and crappy sleep, I got 14 of the 23 floor joist up and can still move my arm, all is good

So until I can get to the lumber yard for more 2x8's and plywood Ill work on the stairs, yeah....

Got to the lumber yard and picked up the rest of the wood for this project hell yes !

Stairs were easier than I thought, done in 2 hours and I took my time.

Even got the first row of decking down today

Now I will HAVE to rest for the next 3 days cause I can't move

I know I said I was done for the weekend but I couldn't leave it half done.

Finished up the decking, this type of decking is OK but it isn't a full 48" wide. It's only 47 3/4", so measure accordingly.

So the weather guys are saying, starting tomorrow around noon it's supposed to start raining and not going to stop until we get between 4" to 7".
Well Happy Thanksgiving to me cause look what showed up today

When it's all said and done there will be an attached garage and a 16'x20' front covered porch.

Yep, finally got something on the property before the rain came and made a muddy mess of it all :p

Glad you got it in before the rain. What a mess it would have been afterwards. Curious to know what the concrete runners cost to put in. I'm doing the same setup soon.

The guy that came out and did the dirt work and also put in the concrete stringers, cost me $7990.00 We didn't have to bring in any dirt, so that helped to control the costs.

Randyj266, Thank you for the kind words.
I get a lot of people saying the same thing, "I can't believe you tow stuff with that truck" I built the truck to use it as a truck, so it looks great form 20 ft. then you get closer and you can see all the scratches and dings, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Well it's been a few months since my last post and things have been pretty busy around here.

Finally get to drive into the shop, concrete :rocker:

Getting the fence done, only 15 more sections to go :deadhorse

Porch and garage just need to be painted

House garage almost done :ninja:

Just waiting for the mud to go away :wtf:
