I'm so sad sometimes I left Oklahoma. This is a beautiful place and what a great garage. Are you doing anything for tornado protection?

Yep, I'm going to hope I live thru it and that I can find some of my stuff later. Tornado shelters are great if you can get to them in time but you still have to go find your stuff after. It's only stuff, all my important stuff will be inside a safe.

Got a box from my brother today, he said he picked it up out of the yard and thought I might want it

Guess I'll have to keep it since it looks so good on the wall

But at least it isn't taking up any floor space

Ordered a controller for it, should be here next week :tard:

Got the light controller in the mail today This controller has 16 different settings

Recent health issues have really slowed down the progress but slow progress is still progress

Still working on the garage electrical, sub panel is in

At least I now have lights in the garage

Spent the past two days working on the never ending fence BUT it is almost done . I need to cut the tops off, finish a gate latch, and build the 16' roller gate. At least I don't have to walk the dog anymore

Wow, very nice build. I never gave it much thought when I built mine, but 14' tall and the mezzanine inside is real nice (I went 12') our buildings are the same color!! Keep up the good work, it looks great!
P.S. I rented an auger to dig my first 50+ post holes for my fence, after my building was done, I dug the last 18 or so with a hand post hole digger, hammer drill and spud bar, it took my elbow about 4 months before I could hold a gallon of milk with that hand/arm, its hell getting older and definately takes longer to heal. (now to figure out a mezzanine in my building)

very nice size building, can i ask how tall is your storage area up top? and how tall of a ceiling is under there in your work shop area?

DW1 - Nice choice on the color I didn't have to dig as many post holes as you did by hand I "had to" buy a tractor with the auger implement and I agree, getting older *****

ap2002 - The inside height of the building is 13'4" from the top of the concrete to the bottom of the trusses. The lower work area height is 7'6", storage decking is 10" and the upper height is 5' to the bottom of the trusses and another 6' in the center to the roof.
Since I'm not real tall these heights work well for me.

It's been a few months since I've updated this, so here we go

Had a few honey do's to get done. Like insulate the garage, build a place so the "Fur Baby" won't get run over when we come in the garage, what a pain in the **** , build shelving, install sprinkler system in front flower beds, Plant some trees and bushes, blah, blah, blah.

Finally got a few trucks to show up with some rock for the driveway. I find it hard to believe it took me 4 weeks to get them to deliver 3 loads of rock.

At least I don't have to drive thru mud any more

I'm glad it's getting greener, now I can use my new toy

I knew it would take a little bit for the wife to get most of her stuff out of the shop but dang. July will make it a year, guess I better start cracking the whip

I still have a bunch of shop equipment to get and build but I'm getting there

And still need to put up 12 more 8' light fixtures.

I got off my **** and made a home for the shop stereo, maybe now I won't have to keep cleaning it off

Even installed a cheap Walmart fan to keep it cool

I was recently surprised with a few birthday presents from my Dad , trust me I will be using these to the fullest extent possible

As of today, I got most of it unloaded by myself

But I still have a few pieces to get off the trailer, going to need the help of a tractor for those


Once I get them off the trailer, then the fun job of putting it together

Finally, Finally, Finally. The Bendpack HDS-14x is wired up, plumbed with air, bolted down and even holds my truck up

Even has plenty of clearance at full lift

Unfortunately now I can see all the stuff I need to fix on the truck

Putting up that lift by myself is not something I would recommend to anyone, Unless you have a forklift, which I don't

I have had that truck for 27 years, it has gone thru a few transformations but the sheet metal is the original stuff that was on it when I got it. One of these days I will have to put in some a/c in it, maybe!

I guess I have a work ethic, it's called, I don't like to sit around cause it gets me in trouble . I will always have some type of project until I die. That's what keeps me out of the recliner and off the bar. Or is that off the recliner and out of the bar, either way

Now that the pictures are all fixed, may be time to do a bit of updating.

I wasn't real fond of where I put the racks so I moved them to kind of close in under the loft.

Tore out my first reloading bench and made a new one after I picked up the safe from my dad's estate.

I needed a place to wash my dirty hands so I put in a sink.

Recently I thought the space over the tool boxes looked kind of empty and I needed some place to put stuff so I built a few cabinets.

Next up is a work bench over the toll boxes. Should be able to get it done this weekend

Started to work on the bench, but after putting a few things together and checking the over all height of it, I didn't like it. So I changed it up.

Instead of using all 3 boxes, I used 2 and made another cabinet to store a few things.

Got the organization done, now onto the top.

I had some left over flooring from the wife's she shed, so I used it for the top of the counter. Tomorrow I'll build the doors and do the trim around the top.

Got my bench done. Made the doors, trimmed out the top, and installed a small light.

I'm happy with the way it turned out.

Got what I believe is one of the last things I wanted for the shop. A sand blast cabinet

I was surprised when I opened the crate, all I have to do is put the legs on it

Got the legs put on and stood it up

Again I was surprised to see there was already sealant where it was bolted together, so far so good.

I was a little disappointed that the foot pedal wire wasn't long enough to reach the floor, kind of hard to depress it when it's in the air

Since the pedal wasn't long enough, I just made a small box to put it on this should also help with keeping my knee from getting to sore when standing there.

Plugged it in to check the light and vacuum. So far so good

Only thing left to do is run air to it, install the water separator and buy some abrasive

As usual with me, I didn't like the way I had done something a few years ago so I tore it out and and redid it.

Had a couple of short pieces of black pipe ran to my airhose real, now that I got the blast cabinet in place, I needed to run air to it. Tore out the old pipe, made a base for the compressor to sit on and put some extra black pipe up

Ended up being 40' of black pipe before it reaches the moisture separator/regulator, then it is sent to the airbase real, lift, and blast cabinet.

I'm hoping I now have dryer air

Ran the blast cabinet today, it works freaking awesome

Compressor ran for about 2 hours, stopped and checked the moisture separator and not even one drop of water. I'll take that as a good setup

Since the wife made me buy a travel trailer, I now have to put it under some shade. So the best place to put it was next to the shop.

First thing I needed to do was put up some spacers to space it away from the metal.
