Finally snagged a Wilton bullet

I've been looking for a Wilton bullet vise for a while, but never could find one at a decent enough deal...until today. Found a Wilton 101028 bullet in a package deal with some other stuff, all it really needs is a new set of jaws.

Haven't decided if I want to refinish it or not, but anything I need to check for on the vise?

Also picked up an import anvil with stand, bit it's going to a buddy of mine...

That Wilton looks like an opportunity to me. An opportunity to replace the jaw pads, lube it up and use the piss out of it. If you spend all the time lovingly restoring it you won’t use it hard. Kind of negates the purpose of a heavy duty pro quality vise.

Looks in good enough shape. I'd clean it up and paint it. Paint stripper, wire wheel, sand paper, primer and a can of paint. Won't cost much at all to make it look pretty nice again.

I'm debating on refinishing it, can't make up my mind...in the meantime, may machine up a set of aluminum jaws.

Nice score Jason! The jaws don't look too bad to me. They're not usable?

I'd tear it down, do a quick cleanup with degreaser, lube it up and reassemble. Personally I like the patina.

The current jaws aren't too bad, just need to be cleaned/squared up.

I'd grind and file that anvil and never abuse it like that again. Vise anvil is handy for straightening small pieces but they are not blacksmith anvils.
