We dug the footer yesterday, poured the footer today, and I decided to get someone to lay the block. My back is killing me. Will be about 575 total block

In my initial post, I was going to go with all block construction, but everyone wanted $2.00 or more per block to lay, so I'll just frame it, and do the work myself. Will have 10' walls, and 2 9x8 doors

Garage will be to the right of the house, beside those trees in the background

Congrats on the start. You'll back at this post about a year and a half from now and think "My God, it was that long ago?" :spit:

We got all of the block laid today, now I just need about 4 tri-axles of fill. I'll see if can post some photos later.

Getting kind of exciting now that it actually looks like something. I don't know how many times a laid it out in spray paint last year

Here are a few more photos. I just need to find lots of fill now, before I can do much else

A view from the old garage to the new. No block laid yet in this shot. Garage will be back to the left of the bobcat

Here are a few more shots of the progress. It's going kind of slow, as it's only my son an I doing the work. We had to build the wall on the street (flat) an carry them to put them in place. so we built them in sections. I still need to add the top plate, some jack studs and cripple studs.

I was going to try to pour my floor first, and built the walls on a nice flat surface, but I'm having a hard time finding fill, unless I want to pay about $3000 and have something delivered
