BHR4CE1, repeat after me - 'Thanks Mom for making me take those piano lessons'!
Apparently, the rumor that the Music Industry is dying is in error! lol
Let me guess, that baby grand is a Bosendorfer?
You should have vanity plates on one of the cars reading '88 KEYS' and the other being 'BEAR FAN'.:bounce:

Your home is mind-boggling and the furnishings are amazing! Your studio would make Ray Charles see again.

LOL. I do thank her almost every day, and don;t worry...when I fly her out to see me I always fly her first class. She deserves it for having to put up with me!

The piano in the pictures is Not a Bosie. While I do appreciate them, they are not really my #1 choice in instrument. The one you see is a Kawai RX-7 Blak. It is about the best playing and sounding piano I have ever had my hands on. I was very fortunate to be introduced to the VP of Kawai by a mutual friend, and he allowed me into the warehouse where I was able to paly 9 different RX-7 models, and choose the one I wanted. That is not something you can do when you go to a piano store. You are lucky if they even have ONE of this model on the floor...let alone a multitude of them to pick from.

That first bathroom reminded me of prison, idk.

I call that bathroom the CELL. The door is motorized (up and down) and is operated from that yellow switch. I wanted it to look very industrial and "cell" like. The mirror is actually a jail cell mirror. It's not glass...but highly polished stainless...(like the sink) and is installed with tamper proof fasteners like in a real jail cell. The faucet is motion activated so it turns on as soon as you walk in front of the sink. The toilet bowl is also made of 100% stainless like in a jail cell.

That is awesome, and creepy as hell at the same time.

And I like how you clean your shower with a squeegee lol.

i do too. those shower doors can get a lot of hard water on them and look pretty bad over time if they aren't squeegeed after each use.

I admit..I don't do it every time, but I try to do it a few times a week. The glass is coated with something that makes the water bead off pretty good (sort of like an industrial Rain-X type product)

I try to. It keeps the housekeeper happy!
Screw that. The housekeeper's job is to clean the house.

However, if you want to make it easier on her, get some of this stuff.

I kid you not, spray on, wipe off. I didn't believe it till I saw it with my own eyes. I keep 2 or 3 bottles in the closet in the bathroom for when my cleaning lady comes. Cloudy translucent to 100% clear as fast as you can wipe. However, it doesn't really clean anything other than shower doors all that well.

yep. lol.. i get lazy too sometimes.

any of those solutions isn't recommended because it could remove the coating, and prevent the beading.

Actually, she can't use anything but mild soap and water on all the shower glass or it will remove the coating.

Hmm... I assume with a house that nice you should have some crazy water filtration system.... you still have hard water buildup on the showers? I guess the water filter guys pitch to me when I built my house about never having to squeege the shower was a lie.

Yes, we have a filtration system, but it doesn't take care of all of it unfortunately. It's a lot better than when we didn't have it though!

well there's soap scum along with hardened water.. filtering the water solves the hardened water problem, not so much the soap scum.

i noticed your water filtration system for the garage that was plumbed in a few pages back... i've got one of those too, and it lets me wash my black CTS-V2 and not have to worry about using microfiber clothes to towel dry it.

Yes. They are installing one in about a month as soon as the permits come through. It is a Briggs & Stratton whole house, natural gas generator (18,000 watts). It will start automatically even if I am not at home. Supposed to be pretty quiet too.

All the natural gas lines will be broken and out of service when the big one hits. No good... better go with diesel and, btw, install at least a 5,000 gallon fuel supply.

Any details on this? My car gets instant water spots with our hard water and I've been trying to find some kind of filter.

Yup. I have some black cars too and I love my CR Spotless system. I actually have another one IN the house just for the water that goes into the sink in my "CELL" bathroom. That sink is highly polished stainless and would show spots like crazy. I has one installed for the sole purpose of dealing with that, and I haven't had ONE spot yet!

Nah, diesel is noisy and smelly. If something happens that breaks all the gas lines...I am not too worried about staying here. i'll be OFF like a prom dress!!

My system is called CR SPOTLESS. I have the larger model, but they make one that is more portable too. Check them out. SOme of my cars are black, and I can actually wash them and just air dry them. No worries about spots! It is amazing!

Here's a few pics from today. They ******* a lot of loose ends as well as installing the cabinet doors, the sink, some of the air lines for the compressor and hose reel, etc. I like how they drilled through one of the shelves and put in grommets for the garage door motor release. Pretty cool.

Frank,

are you going to place a piece of C-channel over the gap between the 2 lift pads so nobody sticks their foot in there? Looks pretty impressive.

Derek

Yes, we are having a piece of metal powder coated to match the blue that Bendpak uses.
