Biggest regret was building a 2-car garage when the house was built rather than 3-car. So, finally after 15 years, I am able to build a 3-car garage. Have a need for four cars. So, I will have to drive into the new garage to park car number four. That is not ideal for resale, but will work for storing a car.

Unfortunately, after several meetings with the township, it was determined the only place the garage can be built is attached to the end of the existing garage.

So, the 24' x 36' garage has begun. I will post photos of the work to date, and I am looking for advice and ideas.

I have attached the plans and the drawings.

They poured the foundation two weeks ago, and the garage floor last week.

In the second photo you can see how I am losing part of the opening to the existing garage door. That was to keep the roofline in line with the existing house. The existing garage door will be removed and used on the new garage.

Please tell me your biggest regrets of something you wish you would have done but didn't when you built your garage.

A few of my goals are to finally get everything in one place; take everything out of the basement and shed. Will use the existing garage for storing lawn tractor, trailers, table saw, tile saw, etc. Have quite a few cabinets in my existing garage, but may need a few for the new.

Have a 220v heater and lots of lighting in existing for detailing cars. Will want to keep new garage very organized, hanging many tools.
