I have a 20x22 with 2 single bulb fixtures from the builder. I replaced each light with a Lithonia t8 4 bulb 4ft light. It made a huge difference but I can see the need for 2 more fixtures to fill out the front of the garage. Mine run front to back and are space apart evenly. They light up the front of the garage by the door b/c the door is white metal and reflects well. I need at least one more fixture going left to right to fill out over the work benches. Being on a budget and 55 bucks per fixture plus bulbs makes me happy with what I have now!!
The guy tried to sell me on t5 HO strips. They were 2bulb, 4ft. While bright, the T8 still had a little more output b/c of 4 bulbs instead of two. I was getting a little less light and spending a lot more. I didn't see the benefit, but maybe I am missing something. The real reason was they were too damn hard to look at and were unprotected.
