I finally after a few days of struggleing to get my infloor heat going i fired it up last night and tonight it is nice and warm in there. The floor was 37 degrees last night and when i went in to check at 6 this morning befor i went to work it said it was up to 80 but it was still cold in the garage. When i went out after work tonigh around 6pm the floor was at 90 degrees. I turned my key on on my pickup to see the actual temp and it said 65 but it felt more like 75. My son took his coat off he was too hot.

You need to back off and let your building temp catch up. Unless you have a HUGE heat loss your floor should not be much more than 5-7 degrees hotter than your air temp thermostat setting.

What were you measuring your floor temp with??

Justin, I just looked at my thermostat. I keep the room at 63 and my slab sensor is showing a 65 degree temp.

I agree, you need to just back it down and let everything in the garage soak up the heat.

Personally, anything warmer than 65 at the slab is uncomfortable (too hot in my work boots).

Oh ya, congrats on getting it up and running!

That's gonna feel great this winter! Nothing nicer than a nice warm garage to work in when it's 10 below outside! I agree about the temp tho, 55-60* in the dead of winter is plenty warm enough...

just fired mine up for the first time on Sunday, tis the season! My floor temp sensor ended up in the area were the 5 circuits enter the concrete. Probably not an ideal location, but was more out of convenience. Even at that location, my floor was reading 63, and my air temp was reading 63! (was 15F outside) I do need to check the air temp on other side of shop to see what the difference might be. Of course we have not hit "real" cold yet, but I am impressed with the system, especially since it seems to rarely kick in to run hot water!

I too put my floor senor in that location. I never though about it in any other location. The heat seems to stay even through out the shop.
